Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
8.5 is my actual score
Wow, this is a cinematic adventure to say the least! Being an A24 film is what initially intrigued me about this film bc other than SLICE and The Blackcoats Daughter, I've really enjoyed this film company's films. It's title is BEYOND appropriate because it encompasses soo much. This must've been an actors' dream job: showing so much range and wearing soo many different costumes. Yeoh is outrageously great, Hollywood should've put her in more varied roles previously. The humor could come off as juvenile at times (I'm personally not into anal play) and as others have said, the 3rd act is slightly long winded, but if you're open minded you definitely check this out!
The VelociPastor (2018)
TUBI IS MY GO TO...
For ridiculous, over the top, poorly written/acted "movies." Between this, Joey Lawrence's SWIM, Ghost Shark, House Shark, Corn Sharks, Llamagedon, Killer sofa, ZOOMBIES (sequel too) TUBI is the hub now for these crazy, "How did they get funded?" movies. I'm now realizing how many of these films I've watched but it really helps when you're high. This film just might be one of the zanier ones I've watched. Awful and laughable acting, action, premise... Just EVERYTHING that could be bad in a movie, this fit the bill.
The Northman (2022)
Wowzers
I was expecting a straight forward epic drama with great action. I got that with some revenge and mysticism added in! Il loved this movie; the sound alone is worth 10 stars. The twist was great, I didn't see it coming. This is a movie that requires an Epic sound system, it's a must see.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (2004)
Gold!
So glad PRIME has this Gem... Came to this, mainly as a fan of Berry but this is an ensemble. That typical British humor that I love. I absolutely die whenever Lerner gives commentary or screams about Won Ton. Although I don't think it's necessary, I can always imagine what a 2nd season would've been like.
The Witcher (2019)
An incredibly average fantasy show
If not for Cavill, would've stopped watching after the 2nd episode. He is LITERALLY the only saving grace of those first 8 episodes. There's no background for any of the main characters and the dialogue is laughable.
One last thing: many reviewers are bothered by the extra color of the show in comparison to the books or games (not sure because I'm not familiar with either). Is the problem your dislike for the looks of these actors or their talent??? Feel like for most of you, it's the former; which shouldn't be an issue with acting.
Re-Animator (1985)
Funny and entertaining enough
This was a pretty good Halloween watch, funny and over the top. However I must say the scene with the head trying to perform cunnilingus was a little problematic.
Dead 7 (2016)
Dead is correct
I saw the description around 1 a.m. and saw who was in it, had to do a double take! I FINALLY got the NSYNC/Bakestreet Boys collab I had wanted to see my Entire childhood. However they gave me this giant turd burger. I have no issue with low budget B movies, this was an insult to all things acting and movie related. Honestly the biggest victim is Debra Wilson, an insanely funny, rarely heard from comedienne.
This was just... just... Terrible
What was up with the Jesus looking statue in front of Apocalypta's place? Was it supposed to be her? How was she able to control her horde? Was the time period past or present? I have way more questions than answers
The King of Staten Island (2020)
Could watch multiple times
I'm more familiar with Pete's movies because I don't watch much SNL anymore. However I'm a fan of his brand of comedy as well as many of Apatow's. It was definitely worth the Redbox purchase. It wasn't uproariously funny because it matched the level of drama. My favorite scene was the pharmacy robbery because it was the perfect mix of seriousness and humor. Nice casting too (must be nice to be related to Apatow he always has his wife of kids in his movies). I would most certainly watch this again!
Ramy (2019)
One of my new favorites
Between this and The Great, Hulu has been scoring with me! This show is absolutely hilarious one moment and excruciatingly sad the next. This show is showing that ultimately ALL PEOPLE have the same issues (sad that some people still think those from different ethnic, racial backgrounds aren't like them). One of the most well rounded casts in recent memory. Hope it keeps trending upwards because it's fantastic television!
Risky Business (1983)
Decent
Thought it was enjoyable plus I loved seeing many recognizable faces in early roles. Personally I didn't find comedic and the ending was weak. Frankly I don't understand y Joel would still be enamored with this woman or friends with Myles by the end. She was the cause of the Porsche going in the lake and he was the reason EVERYTHING occurred. Ultimately if he hadn't come from a rich environment he never would've been able to afford to pay for the car or buy his stuff back.
Palm Springs (2020)
Pleasantly surprised
I really enjoyed this different take on traditional rom coms. It was sllightly more raunchy than most and of course the sci-fi twist. I'm glad I watched this not having known about the fantasy aspect because I truly believe that's what set this apart from other similar films.
The Green Mile (1999)
Magical
Sometimes it takes me forever to see classic films, this was one of them. I'm not sure why it took me so long to see this but I'm glad I finally did. Seeing Michael in his most famous role put a smile on my face. I also enjoyed seeing all the supporting actors: Patricia Clarkson, David Morse, James Cromwell, Sam Rockwell (who's always great), the guy who played Dale on walking dead. Can I just say the villain in this was absolutely deplorable and childish, must've been great to play. This movie is so emotional and beautiful, no wonder it's a classic
The Birds (1963)
Highly enjoyable
Really solid, creepy film especially the scene with the poked out eyeballs!
Top Hat (1935)
Funnier than you'd think
My absolute favorite part of the entire movie was the back and forth between Horace & Bates about the hornets nest; I think I rewinded it 4 or 5 times! It was the acting between these 2 that honestly connected with me the most! I know this film is remembered for Fred & Ginger but the supporting characters were the comedic powers in this.
Coneheads (1993)
One of my all time favorites
Can watch at any moment and it always makes me happy! Loved all the SNL cameos and I now notice the 3rd Rock from the Sun connection with Jane Curtain, the Turners (producing & writing), and Hooks aka Ms. Dubchek
Lady in a Cage (1964)
A wild one
Gave this a look because I heard it was not to be missed b4 it left Hulu, can say I wasn't disappointed. The concept reminded me of one of my all time favorite movies, Sorry Wrong Number. It was incredibly entertaining and sometimes over the top! The sociological and graphic images I believe still hold up; instead of traffic the people would be distracted by cell phones and that final image of Caan will stay with me for awhile!
Mute (2018)
A strange film
What an odd film this was although it was an "interesting" way to spend 2 hours. Paul Rudd was memorable as was Justin Theroux (correct spelling? Maybe) perhaps for the wrong reasons. Honestly the most surprising moment was when Rudd discovered his best friend's pedophilia. I just don't know what this movie wanted to say.
The Farewell (2019)
A familial must see
Beautiful film, great story and acting. What more could u ask for?!
Judy (2019)
Worth a view
I enjoyed this film, thought Renee did a very good job of being sympathetic yet strong although at times her physical "tics" were sllightly distracting. My biggest critique is I wanted to see more of Garland's MGM days and her upbringing. I don't understand a good chunk of the reviewers saying it was depressing. To me it seemed like Garland's life was Quite sad around this time period.
Impractical Jokers: The Movie (2020)
Most of these reviews r the same
People love the show, hated this. I didn't hate this film as much as some of the other reviewers did. However I did find myself asking "what was the point of this film being made?" In all honesty I found it got much funnier after the Atlanta Hawks interview. But I prefer the recent Dinner Party episodes to this but I still love the guys!
Atonement (2007)
So stinkin good
For over a decade thw only thing I knew about this movie was "the Dress." I had no idea Cumberbatch or Saiorse were even in it! All in all I really enjoyed this tale of jealousy and the consequences of our lies.
And that twist at the end... Heartbreaking
A Life Less Ordinary (1997)
Inexplicable
Read a list of interesting films about to leave Hulu at the end of the month so decided to watch 3 of them: Destiny turns on the radio (Not good at all), Slums of Beverly hills (interesting and memorable, awkward but funny mostly) and this. I'm not sure how I feel writing this because I found this intersting but a little puzzling. Guess in laymens terms it's a unique look at love, luck, family? I don't believe I'd ever watch this again but it's not the worst thing I've seen
South Side (2019)
Freaking HILARIOUS
I finally watched after seeing many the commercials on comedy central while watching The Office, broad city, or drunk history. I really enjoyed these characters, especially my dude from Sherman's Showcase (Another must watch show), Officer Goodnight! If you want to laugh your A#s off at some silly humor please watch!!
The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience (2019)
Love these guys
I FREAKING love Andy Samberg. This was short and sweet and Awesome. Had me cracking up. Nice job fellas!
Good Boys (2019)
Hilarious
Obe of the funniest movies I've seen in a hot minute!! I've been a fan of Tremblay since The Room, he along with everyone else, were fantastic. People who are saying it was too much the child actors, r missing that they weren't acting like sex and drug experts. They still had absolutely no idea what they were talking about or the drug they possessed. If u want to bust a gut give this a look!!
