This is one of those types of movies where if you take it seriously, your head will just explode.
You need to take it for what it basically is: a movie written by kids who think plane crashes, constantly getting shot at, international espionage, and moms who miraculously beat the snot out of heavily armed henchmen always ends well. Fact is, the way it is written, Jamie Fox and Cameron Diaz may as well be Avengers or some other superheroes who always escape every situation with barely a scratch or two on them.
In other words, this film is pure fantasy. Leave it at that and don't take it seriously. You may enjoy it.

All this build up after a masterful first movie.... Just to ruin it all by saying that Fleck isn't the Joker that eventually will become Batman's arch nemesis in the future. What a complete and total waste. This sequel completely ruined everything that was built up in the first Joker movie.
A musical?? WHY????? I'm starting the think that a musical was the only way they could fill up enough screen time to make a full length motion picture. Because clearly, this story and the plot were not enough. And in the process they totally ruined the Harley Quinn character as well. We all know that Harley was THE Joker's girlfriend. Not the girlfriend of some guy who inspired the actual Joker.
I am so utterly disappointed in this sequel that the only way I can summarize it, is with this: The makers of this sequel took all that was great about the first film, put it all in a bag, then took a huge steaming dump inside that bag. Then they laughed all the way to the bank.

As a huge fan of the entire franchise, it pains me to say that DM4 was a big let-down. Dare I say, much of DM4 was actually BORING. And it's such a shame that I have to say that because how can you go wrong with all the great characters the previous films have come up with already? Up to this point, it has all been comedic and artistic brilliance. But DM4 managed to stagnate the franchise. You likely won't notice it if judged strictly by box office numbers because we all know that parents are going to take their kids to the theaters just because the movie has minions in it and everyone loves minions. But from a creative and entertaining standpoint, DM4 simply falls flat.
DM4 in this franchise is the equivalent of Rocky 5 of the Rocky franchise. Yeah, enough said.
