This series reminded me of the Fargo series which I loved... it's a high 8 imo as it held my interest.. just sad that it's just 6 30 minute episodes. Margo Martindale is her usual terrific self... love all her roles. I didn't know that Canada produces over 70% of the world's maple syup... 90% of that from Quebec. I remember a story about 10-12 years ago of a maple syrup heist in Quebec... millions of dollars worth so I had to watch this. The supporting cast are all wonderful too... the story having a French/Quebec flavor (syrupy analogy lol). The music is interesting as all these familiar hits are tastefully recreated in the French language with beautiful voices. The scenery is so Quebec rural which lends to the realism of the story. The story is a drama but with some tasteful comedy. Jamie Lee really adds to it and it was great seeing her again on the screen. It's not a long drawn out series like many so it makes a nice light change... I recommend it highly... a must see.
I like these type of vendetta movies. I have seen all Liam's flicks and don't tire of them although even though predictable and somewhat shallow most are this one in particular shows off the harsh winters in Colorado.... I didn't realize that they accumulated so much snow in the winter. It was great entertainment though as most know... far fetched. The supporting cast added credence especially Tom Jackson as White Bear. I love natives in movies. This flick is very violent but has quite of few funny / light moments. The popups after each death is very creative. This film reminded me of the Fargo movie and television series. It deserves better than the current 6.3 rating.
