A must see film about women healing.
My admiration to the women portraited in this film for their bravery in facing their own personal hurt, and big Thank You to them for their bravery in allowing their very personal journeys to be presented to the rest of us on film. A truly inspirational film that will make every mature woman cry and every mature man feel a little ashamed for being a man. (For emotionally mature audiences only).
Ladies and Gentlemen - We are at the movies! It's not a Dateline docu-drama, don't take it too literally.
Majority of bad reviews here are concerned with comparing this series to "American Horror Story" and "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". I've never seen either of those films, and as a virgin, someone who hasn't been burdened with past history, I am assessing this series on its own merits.
Most dissatisfied reviewers express their disappointment by pointing out that the characters in "Ratched" are not true to the characters in the original films. Watch it like you watched "Terminator". In one film Schwarzenegger plays a bad guy, in the other he plays a good guy.
Suspend reality for the 60-minute episode. It's a show, as in show-business. A stage performance with drama of "Gladiator" and cartoonishness of "300". It's as noir as "Casablanca" and Frank Miller's "Sin City", and as dreamy as "Allison In Wanderland". The acting is superb! Locations are marvelous! Sets are spectacular! And the plot is tight and fast-moving!
Enjoy.

I give the movie 8 stars. Withholding 2 stars only for failure to "entertain" in the way spoiled brats like myself have come to expect being amused but everything being shown on the silver screen.
