Thus movie is full of all the qualities that make for a terrible movie: low budget, bad acting, unrealistic characters, boring and predictable plot, etc.

It has a decent buildup before it becomes a painfully slow crawl to get to the point. I think I would have liked this a little more if it turned out there was no monster. I don't know. Maybe.

I think it's scary enough at times where it wants to he, but that's often ruined by cheesy graphics and sound effects, not to mention the highly unlikable main characters behaving unrealistically in a situation that should terrify any normal humans into running for the hills.

Overall, 4 stars for effort, because I felt like being generous.

I was expecting garbage. I almost didn't even take a chance on this movie but I'm glad I did. I watched it twice and will probably see it again sometime before the year is over. I don't want to spoil anything, but I hope the trailers don't show all the best parts. It's hilarious. Its charming. It's epic. It's so true to the source material I'm convinced this is based on a real life D&D campaign.

It is predictable, sure, but certainly not in a bad way, as I think the story goes exactly where it needs to, and that happens to be where it was expected to go. I see a lot of comparisons to Guardians of the Galaxy, which is fair, but this movie is what the Marvel movies wish they could be. Highly recommended.
