What's the point? It's great to be a super fan, & if you wanna make short films, then do it, just don't bite off more than you can chew. The Krueger shorts were a good idea, and manageable, but Freddy vs Jason vs Michael Myers vs Leatherface featuring Pinhead? That's more than most Hollywood writers can chew. So why bother? If you can't do it right, why do it? At least when it comes to Indie filmmaking. I mean they could've all looked much worse, but Freddy's giant nose, Myers's mask sticking out all weird at the neck, and Leatherface's goblin mask w/giant chin? They were too distracting to ignore. 90%-All of Freddy's dialogue was god awful, and nothing like the character. They used the same trope twice in a row with Myers and Jason both dropping their famous weapon. And Leatherface...ahh it was all pretty bad. It was good for one of these weird Batman Dead End shorts, but overall it was pointless. Oh yeah, and there was ZerO Gore.
I am baffled by the way people think nowadays. I'm 33, & I remember a time when the majority of people would take reviews with a grain of salt. Most people would still wanna see it for themselves. They would watch things that caught their interest, for 1 reason or another, & decide for themselves what they thought. They'd like or dislike it, but rarely was something universally stupid, they just didn't care for it. Now it seems that since there is so much media these days, that when word gets out from who's seen it early, if it is negative, that becomes what that movie/show is known as from then on. And I wonder about the early reviewers for SOME of these movies/shows, and how "honest" they are being, because it's usually very easy to guess which way they're going to lean. Like IRON FIST for example, I knew it was going to be Marvel's 1st poorly reviewed Netflix show. Because for some reason, EVERYONE thought the the white comic book character was going to be played by an Asian American actor, & then when he was cast as what the role actually called for, everybody lost their minds, and held a grudge because it was a "missed opportunity". I don't get this thinking because I would never think that a classic Asian role Must be cast with a white actor, especially in a straight adaptation. Anyways, this leads to that and now everybody who posts about this stuff online and everybody who deals with this stuff who has a known voice, "doesn't really like it". It happened w/BvS earlier this year. I'm sick of it. Because this is a good show, much better than most. And a different but awesome addition to Marvel's TV shows. I'd love to continue but I fear that I'm close to my 1000 word limit.
