I remember having this on dvd when it first came out and I've just watched it on Netflix uk and the film is as good today as it was back then. Yes it has clichés and its issues but the film has a solid (original at the time) premise, a good story, characters that we can get invested in and above all its entertaining.
This should be the benchmark of any good film to be entertained and if you enjoy creepy horror films with a supernatural twist you can't go wrong with this one
Oh just an fyi if you're scared of flying maybe don't watch this.
Tldr - Good film, I'm old and don't watch film if flying scares you.

I'll always watch my shark films both good and bad mostly coz I love both sharks and films plus their a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine so you'd think with a snappy title like Mako you'd be onto a winner right?
Wrong this film is all over the place. Other reviewers have also noted that there are multiple sub plots going on in the same film here, soap opera, supernatural oh and a shark film so it all becomes very convoluted very quickly.
Now granted I'm not heavily versed in Egyptian soap operas but if they mostly have pi55 poor stories that are more shouting at each other until i lose the will to live I'm good thanks. The supernatural side Intrigued me until it didn't go anywhere so where does that leave us oh sharks right as my title says after watching this twice now I actually forget I'd already seen it and it doesn't get any less annoying, confusing or frustrating on the second watch.
So with the soap opera being more annoying than someone shouting while your at the opera, the supernatural side ironically vanishing as fast as its mentioned and your thinking if I just wait for it... don't bother this films about as frightening as a newborn kitten and as for the sharks well they looked nice all 3 of them for the 6 or so minutes of airtime they got.
If u want a new international action/shark film watch under Paris.
I u want a decent international supernatural film watch the wailing and if u want a soap opera then I dunno watch corrie or something.
This film was so bad I couldn't even root for the shark.
