Only Bengali film lovers will understand why Khadaan is so important. Directed by Soojit Dutta (Rino) and starring Dev, Jisshu U. Sengupta, Barkha Bisht, Idhika Paul, Anirban Chakraborty, Parthasarathi, Raja Dutta, and John Bhattacharyya, this film has left an indelible mark.
Dev delivers a tremendous performance in this mass entertainer. Once known for his charismatic screen presence and exceptional dance skills, he has now reached new heights in acting. Every time he appears on screen, the audience is filled with excitement. Jisshu Sengupta as the antagonist is a treat to watch, showcasing a nuanced portrayal of a baddy. Barkha Bisht and the supporting cast give their best performances, even with limited screen time.
The chemistry between Dev and Idhika is electrifying, leaving a lasting impression. Rathijit's background score is outstanding, and the songs have all become chartbusters. The screenplay is fast-paced, though it occasionally leaves the audience wishing for more depth in certain characters or scenes. Sailesh Awasthi's cinematography is top-notch, capturing every frame beautifully.
Overall, Khadaan is a fantastic watch, and fans are eagerly hoping for at least one mass film from Dev every year!

Pushpa 2: The Rule, helmed by Sukumar, is a perfect masala film for the masses. The USP of the film lies in the power-packed performances of the cast, with Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil standing out. However, Rashmika Mandanna and others have very little to do. The songs in the Hindi-dubbed version are subpar, but the Hindi dialogues are well-written. Shreyas Talpade has done a terrific job as the dubbing artist for Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun)'s voice.
Sreeleela's dance was fantastic, but she falls short of matching Samantha's performance due to poor lyrics and choreography. The first half of the film is fast-paced, and the screenplay is engaging. However, after the interval, it loses its way. The editing could have been much better, and the last 20 minutes feel forcefully dragged, making the climax appear pale. Unnecessary subplots are left open to set up Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
The cinematography is outstanding, and you should watch it in IMAX for a better theatrical experience. The background score is perfect. Overall, it is a great family entertainer that you shouldn't miss in theatres.
Allu Arjun gave his heart and soul to the character of Pushpa Raj. Whenever he is on screen, he outshines everyone with his tremendous screen presence and swagger. This is undoubtedly his career-best performance.

"Bohurupi" is a well-crafted film by the famous director duo Nandita Ray and Shiboprasad Mukhopadhyay. The ensemble cast includes Abir Chatterjee, Shiboprasad, Ritabhari, Koushani, and many renowned actors. The story and backdrop are excellent and very rooted. The music is well-placed. The only negative aspect of the movie is an unnecessary subplot revolving around Pori, played by Ritabhari, which hampers the fluidity of the screenplay. The editing could have been crisper. Shiboprasad Mukherjee steals the show, and Koushani Mukherjee delivers her career-best performance. The others are apt in their respective roles. Overall, it's a great watch.
