Just couldn't get into this. Not much substance to the plot. It felt like a hodge-podge of mini themes strung together..the romance, the fixer upper, the remembering of her parents, the less than confidant contractor etc. Wes Brown looked a bit old and aged...especially in the coffee house scene conversation with the blond. Perhaps it was bad make up or something else. If I compare it to a non-Christmas Fixer Upper Mystery on Hallmark Mystery, which I loved, this movie would rate even lower.
As I'm writing this, I'm trying to figure out what else to say to make the 600 word (not character) requirement, which it now does, hence the reason why I mostly rate, but don't review.

I've always loved watching Dr Pol, especially for the large animals and Rooftop Landings reindeer farm. The other vet shows just don't compare. And it was one of only a handful of shows worth watching anymore. Laugh, but it's my 10 year old English Bulldog's favorite show. Nothing gets him more excited than for me to say, "Do you want to watch Dr Pol?" He jumps on the couch, barks and truly watches like a human.
I liked how simple the show is and the taste of life with farm animals. Dr Pol's experience in farming helped foster what appeared to be a true interest in helping the area farmers, vs the newer vet shows where dealing with farm animals is a rarity, handled by vets that don't seem to have a real understanding of farm life or see it's importance.
The only thing that got on my nerves with the show was Charles. At times, he seemed to be so silly, self-indulgent, know-it-all. In later seasons, when he was on less, I actually enjoyed the show more.
Yes, I understand Dr Pol had to call it quits at some point, (much to my dismay) but I'd really like to know why season 24 wasn't announced as the final season, instead of finding that July would bring a series finale instead of season 25 start.
