B Dolan's soundtrack and is the highlight of this movie which is set in the 70s in the USA. I enjoyed the 70s costumes but the plot for the movie is poor and predicable.
If like me you grew up with punk and new wave you'll be familiar with John Cooper-Clarke. This TV documentary covers Johns work at the time of recoding and his tour with reggae poet Linton Kwesi Johnson. Its great nostalgic stuff and essential viewing if you like this era.
There is a great story to be told here but quality of acting, accents, costume, casting, wigs (so bad) is poor and lack of Bowie songs makes this a real let down for me. As others have said the continuity is weird, the film omits the whole Hunky Dory period.
If you think the Bowie character likeness is poor, the guy playing Marc Bolan is just terrible. He looks about 20 yrs older than Bolan is meant to be.
