You People (2023)
You People-Cringy and Funny
I'm in an Interracial marriage so my husband and I were really excited about this movie. For all people saying they don't believe Jonah couldn't pull Lauren in real life; funny, authentic men regardless of looks pull beautiful women all the time, it was a funny romcom. I enjoyed the comedic cameos. I rated the film 7 we did laugh. I did get annoyed with Eddies's intensity and Dreyfus' over excitement, and my husband and I did cringe but points were made; even some of the experiences were relatable. The dialogue were mainly jokes so don't expect in-depth conversation. The ending was corny but we laughed throughout the movie.
Smile (2022)
Psychological Final Fantasy
There were a couple of nice jump scares. There were several times where the scenes were unnecessary or didn't fit the narrative. I thought the fiancΓ© should've just been a boyfriend because -huh The sister being completely oblivious was a little annoying. I couldn't tell if these were character development flaws or the acting was poor. But it was an okay movie, not bad not excellent. I saw several different types of horror or thriller movie ideas apart of this movie, like final destination, and Fallen. The idea was cool, just some parts fell flat for me. I'm happy I saw it matinee which saved money.
Nope (2022)
Nope is dope
I've never seen anything like this before. I yelped, I laughed, I said oh sh** over and over. Beautiful cinematography, relevant, a little shocking. I thought the plot was amazing, the third act was satisfying. I will definitely watch this movie again.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Should've known better
Half of the movie were old video clips on the first Matrix. π I ended up leaving almost 2hours in. I was hoping the movie would evolve and get better, it didn't. There was a scene pitching a new idea for the new Matrix video game and let's just say the scene was referring to the movie itself. Honestly I thought it was a parody.
Eternals (2021)
I picked up my phone.
I started looking at my phone during the movie. That never happens, I'm disappointed it was depressing. I was waiting for Sersi to say something, do something throughout the whole movie. There was no dialogue, and the lack of dialogue didn't provide mystery only anxiety. I won't watch it agin or recommend.
Candyman: Shadow Puppets (2020)
Must See
Candyman was creepy/ and frightening in the beginning and slowly tapered down to a mystery. I enjoyed the movie, I did smack my teeth a little. But it was still worth it, worth the money.
2067 (2020)
Tears, Tears, and more Tears
The four stars are because I watched it all the way through. I wanted to enjoy the movie but the script was redundant, and depressing. Spoiler alert! He could've went back home with the flowers and trees. He wanted to be with his wife but chose to stay in the future?
The main character annoyed me such a crybaby.
Cruella (2021)
π₯ Soundtrack
Loved the movie with a fire soundtrack, I'll watch again when they remake 101 Dalmatians.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
Solid 7
I enjoyed Mortal Kombat it was exactly as expected, can't wait for the next one. I was tempted to give the movie an 8 based on nostalgia.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Jermaine Fowler π
I wanted to like all of this movie I did laugh at times. Most annoying though the son; It felt like he was overacting eh. I'm glad I had a new movie to watch I probably won't watch this again.
Judas and the Black Messiah (2021)
I Loved This Movie
Let me start by saying I was so tired of seeing black movies and boohooing my eyes out. I was worried while I did tear up I didn't feel broken or depressed afterwards. I was hung on every word and scene. I even paused to have a discussion with my husband about the movie. It's powerful, thrilling, heartbreaking, and a really good movie.
The Unsettling (2019)
I mean it's okay
I wanted to like it more I gave it a 6 because I actually watched it all the way through.
Great concept, poor execution; it's as if they packed too many stories into one and stretched throughout the series. There was no closure for plot holes. The only child was doing rituals and whatever he wanted. One kid got killed and his death was never revisited which makes his death even more pointless. Towards the end the show turns into the Geico commercial where there are ways to escape but let's go through the creepy shed insteadππππ
So the 6 stars is fair because I was yelling at the tv. I'm not suggesting watching it but if you need background noise ππΎ
Ghost in the Shell (2017)
Visually beautiful
The movie lacked substance but it looks beautiful.
The Craft: Legacy (2020)
I actually enjoyed the movieππΎ
I enjoyed it, it was optimistic everyone seems so miserable right now and I think it was a PG-13 movie for today. I loved the original Craft, and I really enjoyed this one too. Plus it's nice to have new options to watch during Halloween.
The Willoughbys (2020)
Hmmm
Whoever wrote this movie tried so hard to include every single demographic, life style, personality, location, nostalgia, let's not forget a narrator. Animation was great, But the story line wasn't focused. Most likely it was a good story and too many people got involved and this is the result
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Hmm...
My expectations were to high, I still have a crush on Adam Driver's character though. I really wanted to enjoy it, I got bored and it became predictable. :/
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
I'm in love
I'm speechless, or maybe I'm high. I will watch it again
Joker (2019)
Mental Illness
My favorite quote from the movie, "the worst part part about having a mental illness is people expecting you not to have one." My words may not be exact but wow. I'm going to to watch it again
Secret Obsession (2019)
π ππ
Best thing about this movie is the reviews aahh. I just watched and thought how could you do this to me NetflixπππIf you want to feel better after watching read the reviews
Shazam! (2019)
Not what I expected
DC movies tend to be dark. I thought it was going to be a kids film. I was surprised, I enjoyed it more than my kids. It made me want to get the comic. Oh and the cameos π
The Lion King (2019)
It was beautiful
National Geographic is what I thought of the entire movie. I loved it
