I Saw the Light (2015)
Incredible Acting by Tom!
I'm not into country musics at all but Tom did a pretty good job at the singing but his acting was quite outstanding. One of the best performances I have seen from him! It was so different and cool for him. Elizabeth did a good job also as one of his wives Audrey but Tom was
definitely the shining star! Incredible impersonator he is! You could tell he enjoyed the performance. It was infectious!
The movie was decently paced for the most part and went for the right amount of time.
It was quite unsatisfying to not see the death scene as it would have added more impact in my opinion. It's definitely an average movie with a killer performance from Hiddleston!
The Night Manager (2016)
Very Well Done!
I finally got around to watching this show. I must admit I was never really interested but the thought of Tom as Bond intrigued me enough to check it out. I'm glad I did! The cast is great, the acting awesome, beautiful locations, cinematography and directing.
Hugh Laurie and Olivia Coleman were amazing and Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Debicki were also pretty damned good.
The pacing is good for the most part. The first episode drags a bit in the Hotel but otherwise it's a good pace for the remainder of the show.
This show really serves as a great Bond-esque original story. That's how I saw it anyway. All of the characters are likeable in their own way and their interactions are spot on! I really hope that the next seasons are as good! I don't mind that there isn't too much action, the interactions between characters is definitely entertaining enough and the premise. It's done really well. It's great to see Tom Hiddleston in something good besides Marvel and a few movies here and there. He is severely undercast in general I think.
It was a treat to see Tom Hollander again as well. I've never seen Hugh Laurie or Elizabeth Debicki in anything before but they surprised me! Tom was good with the subtleties of the character. He is so good with his subtle expressions he can work it!
High-Rise (2015)
I could see what this film was trying to do.
I am a huge fan of Tom Hiddleston and this movie wasn't my cup of tea but I could definitely see what it was trying to do and it did it pretty well. You could see the debauchery, chaos, malice and the carelessness in the people of the High Rise.
Tom's character was pretty well done. You could see him deteriorating from sanity which was well done. He had quite the appetite for pleasures that were not consumables. He was mostly cold but had a soft spot for one of the only nice people in the movie. Helen, played by Elizabeth Moss. Jeremy Irons was good albeit a bit wasted and Luke Evans was great and playing the 'lunatic' who made sense of all the filth that was occurring in that 'society.'
This movie is extremely cliche but I think it did what it tried to achieve. Shine a light inside the debauchery of society in a dystopian world with no rule, law or reason.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)
Surprisingly good!
I went into this expecting silly monster nonsense but it is an overall well paced adventure with lots of scientific aspects, different realms, portals and even time travel with good acting so it's pretty cool and the callbacks to Kong: Skull Island were cool.
Kurt Russell was great and so was most of the other cast. What a pleasant surprise with a good adventure and character interactions.
The peek at Kong at the end was EPIC!!! I actually liked this show more than silly Skull Island and look forwards to maybe seeing some more Kong Skull Island cameos in the next season such as Samuel L Jackson or Tom Hiddleston!
The Life of Chuck (2024)
This is truly what we need!
This movie is so thoughtful and acted brilliantly. Mark Hamill surprised me as I was never a huge fan of Star Wars. I liked him as the Joker and Malefor though. Great voice actor.
Karen had a nice presence but Hiddleston was the soul of the movie. His performance was very touching especially alongside Gillan, Hamil and Basso. His accent was convincing and it was some of the best acting I've ever seen from him! Tom might just be once of the the most joyful dancers in Hollywood also! You could just see the utter joy in his face and eyes and it was wonderful! :) His final scene gave me tears.
The rest of the cast had smaller roles but were very good nonetheless. Jacob as young Chuck was very good! What an interesting story it was with an intriguing twists! A MUST see especially in this day and age! Could be up for some awards!
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
Embarrassing
I'm a huge fan of Chris Hemsworth but his 'acting' in this movie was AWFUL! I'm an Australian and both my mother and I were CRINGING hard whenever he opened his mouth! Tom Burke, a British actor did a MUCH better Aussie accent than Chris did with his ridiculously over-exaggerated 'bogan' voice. He's SOOOO unbelievable as a villain! He enjoyed it more than any other role he had done so good for him.
Look. I adore Hemsy to bits SO MUCH. He's one my fav celebs EVER and is a good role model but he should seriously stop it with the fake accents in movies as he is AWFUL at them and his movements were cringe worthy. It's truly hard to believe that he has a Hollywood Star and not a more accomplished actor such as Robert Downey Jr!
Tom Burke truly surprised us with how good his Australian accent was and he did more justice to this Australian movie than Chris Hemsworth did!
Anya had no presence in this movie. She's certainly striking to look at but that's about it. I haven't seen much of her other work but she was pretty boring in this movie.
The American Dream and Other Fairy Tales (2022)
Eye-opening
Disney certainly isn't what it used to be. Good on you Abigail for exposing the truth of all those suffering under d1ct4t0r B0b! It's such a shame that the documentary was removed from the mainstream media.. The magic has been removed in favour or corruption and greed. Too many stories have come out and it's only a matter of time before things change.
Can't wait for part two of your documentary and hopefully it will stay intact on the streaming services and not mysteriously removed as if Deisney is trying to hide a few things...Abigail has every right to sue those who did her family name wrong!
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
How does this movie connect to the MCU at all?
You wouldn't know that this was a 'Marvel movie.' It's just a kid's Disney movie with stylish CGI and choreography over substance. The family themes are nice and touching and it's a nice family movie but it's just utter nonsense in terms of the MCU. How does it add to the overall story whatever that is? Marvel is truly directionless at the moment which is a shame. I wouldn't even know that this was a Marvel movie except for the fact that Wong showed up.
This is more like a standalone family or kids film than a Marvel movie. Is this guy supposed to be an 'Avenger' just because he's a 'good guy?' "Welcome to the circus." Bruce says. So Shang-Chi is an 'Avenger' now? Okay..
A Time to Kill (1996)
A Movie With Passion & Soul!
Great story, great acting and full of PASSION! THIS is what great film making is! NOT new modern 'cash grabs' form the likes of corrupt companies such as modern Disney! Great performances all around in this film that made the audience FEEL and relate to CHARACTERS unlike actors who are FORCED to be in films or shows that they do NOT wish to be IN due to contractual obligations. Disney is one such example of a company with too much greed and power and has thus become one of the most corrupt businesses of ALL TIME! The movie industry is in jeopardy due to this behemoth. I fully supported the Hollywood strikes. This goes beyond just money. JUSTICE SHOULD BE SERVED JUST LIKE IT WAS IN THIS MASTERFUL and PASSION FILLED MOVIE!! 👏 💪
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Stupid and nonsensical. Doesn't do the character justice
Thor 1 is my favourite Marvel movie and one of my favourite movies of ALL time.
This movie didn't do Thor justice and is just another really stupid 'M-She-U' entry. It can be 'stupid and ridiculous' but also funny JUST because the actors seems to be enjoying themselves. Ragnarok (Gagnarok) is also 'stupid but funny.' These pair of movies don't do any of the characters justice. They just make Gods into clowns (akin to the 'Woki-Joki-Loki' show). The villain could have been MUCH cooler and Hela was WAY underused unfortunately. The villains for the next Thor are Zeus and Hercules who are PATHETIC!! 😂 Pathetic just like Kang Kong the Clown in 'Loki!' 😆 Gor isn't the 'God Butcher,' Disney is! Hopefully Thor 5 will give both Thor AND Loki some MUCH needed justice with less silliness. The writing in these movies and the 'Loki' show was just pathetic and inept. They HARDLY explained ANYTHING that was going on from the sudden shifts of character motivation and emotions to bringing in MASSIVE figures like Eternity and not explaining them AT ALL and make ULTRA STUPID scenes like all the 'kid Thor's' and making 'everyone worthy.' It used to be a title that was EARNED!!! Now anyone, even mortals can be 'worthy of the Power of Thor' and enter Valhalla such as Jane who is a uncharacteristically hot-headed 'girl boss' who just brazenly 'takes over' as the 'superior Thor' as Sylvie took over as the 'superior Loki.' But luckily at the VERY end of that stupid show they made the REAL(ish) Loki into a REAL God. Still. Both of these characters deserve better! Maybe in Thor 5 or Avengers The Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars hey?
Loki: 1893 (2023)
Quite a Charming Episode But 'Loki' is Irrelevant
This episode looks and sounds cool and is pretty clever but the character of Loki is pointless. It's just Tom walking around in his 'Crimson Peak' outfit with Owen Wilson enjoying the sights and sounds and eating as per usual. I think that is a common them for him. Perhaps even an inside joke.
This show is just about Sylvie, Kang, Owen and the TVA. Loki is out of place and doesn't serve any 'glorious purpose at ALL!' He's not 'mischievous at ALL' and just stands there to 'look pretty' it seems. What the heck does Tom honestly think of this show when he's not getting kicked in the balls or bent over tables all the time like he was in the last season??? Loki is an 'extra' a 'cameo' in his own show!
The cartoon clock is obviously so Disney and I can't BELIEVE that they're going to use it in the next Deadpool movie as well as supposedly Including 'Loki,' Owen Wilson and the TVA as well.. 🤷♀️
Loki: Glorious Purpose (2023)
'Loki' and Tom have a SEVERE personality disorder + identity crisis
The acting in the first half of the episode is cringeworthy and very uncomfortable to watch. The cast are just there for the sake of it. The way that Tom Hiddleston has been acting in this show is VERY inconsistent and quite concernigly so! 😳 I think he has acquired a severe mental illness from this show with how inconsistent he has been appearing and acting. It's quite JARRING and I among many other fans have been (and still are) concerned for his health. He looks as old as ever and the show uses unflattering lighting and angles on him when in real life he can be a dashing man! Michael Waldron and Eric Martin must have it out for him let alone the 'posters' they used for this season!!
The scene where he is becoming a 'true God' is beautiful and powerful but they put him in the most STUPID looking outfit on par with Richard E Grant's 'Classic Loki' in the last season. This show makes the beautiful and talented Tom Hiddleston look like an unattractive IDIOT at times! So unflattering for the poor guy!
Is this the end of 'Loki' as a character now that he will forever remain 'behind the scenes' or is he just there for whenever Marvel needs to milk some more money from exploited Disney slave Tom?
What happens with Ravonna? Brad? Sylvie? It's an open ending!! What will the TVA do now? Did Loki create it? Did he create the universe? He's giving everyone 'free will' which is admirable but what's the point of any of the other characters or even the AVENGERS then?! This show is so weird. Sometimes clever and creative but DEFINITELY unique and weird but not always in the best of ways..I don't think this show was ever what it was intended to be and I among other fans are VERY curious as to what Mr. Hiddleston HONESTLY thinks of this show...
Loki: Heart of the TVA (2023)
Tom's Soul is gone!
The plot is genuinely good and clever and I respect the premise I do but It's just REALLY painful to see that Tom's soul has been sucked out by Disney. He doesn't look well AT ALL in this episode. 😓😥😢 He's just in it for some reason and it feels so WRONG! It doesn't sit right with me at all that he's seemingly being forced to be in this! This is plainly exploitation by Disney in FULL effect here and it's AWFUL and I feel TERRIBLE for him!💔 I can't help but think he's trying to 'keep the fans happy.' I have nothing but respect for him and wish him well.💗💓💞
The scene at the end was BEAUTIFUL, MASSIVE powerful and VERY important for Marvel's future! At the expense of Tom's health and well-being it would seem..😒
Loki: Breaking Brad (2023)
THE REAL LOKI RETURNS briefly
YES!!! 😃💚🖤🐍🔪 The acting is awesome and engaging, the pacing is good and the stakes are gradually building back up. Tom's acting is the BEST it has been in a VERY long time. Season 1 did him and his character so DIIIIIRTY but he's BACK injecting some MUCH needed passion into the whimpering Marvel universe! It was such a TREAT for Loki, Marvel and Tom fans to see this episode. It's GOLD! This is what we needed! Some HOPE for Marvel going forwards! 👏
Brad's actor, Rafael Casal was also brilliant in this episode and the verbal sparring between him and Loki was AWESOME! 😃👌 The dynamics between Owen Wilson's Mobius is the PERFECT calm to Loki's chaos. Odd but GREAT casting! 🙌
Loki: Ouroboros (2023)
TINY bits of magic seeps through the cracks amongst the slog
Despite the travesty that Disney had turned Marvel into (including Loki's character in Season 1), I had very little faith in the longevity of Marvel going forward after Endgame. While this episode can be intriguing, it is too slow where the scenes with OB drag on and some of the cringeworthy improvised 'humour' like something from Play School! Being such a huge Marvel fan, I was utterly heartbroken at how far it had fallen after Endgame and hopefully the slump of Phase Four is coming to a close. Despite the massive disappointment I had in season one I've always had that tiny bit of hope that it could just improve somehow and while it has in some ways (in later episodes, it's still not the 'Loki' I like. He's far too wimpy that it's INSULTING!) I seriously hope that Loki's confidence issues dissipate ASAP and he becomes a BADASS again!
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Fantastic visuals but recycled plot..and villain
The recycled villain is just silly and the fact that he's still... 'alive' even at the end of this film is just ridiculous! The actor must have some contract to fulfil... All in all, fantastic audio and visual experience with lovely messages and morals just
like the first film. There were some nice new characters and old but there were also plenty of boring new ones. Basically this movie is: Jake and family go on a vacation to Sea World in order to get away from the exact same recycled plot and villain from the first film. There were some differences luckily but everyone will see the similarities. The continuation and utilisation of the spiritual tones were as lovely and meaningful however and that was done beautifully. :)
The Essex Serpent: The Blackwater (2022)
Okay Victorian piece.
I'm a sucker for Victorian-era settings as well as Tom Hiddleston but his lack of performance sucks. The only good performances I've seen him do are Loki, Thomas Sharpe and Prince Hal. Everyone else in this episode, even the villagers were more memorable than his portrayal as an 'emotionless priest.' Maybe he will be more of an actual character in the next episode. Besides him, the episode was alright Slow but intriguing .👌
Gods of Egypt (2016)
CGI sh** and terrible acting
I went into this film thinking it was going to be of a semi 'serious' theme. Oh boy was I wrong. The acting was terrible and so was slot of the overused CGI! No personality and a cut and paste Disney plot. Ugh.
Seventh Son (2014)
The first 20 minutes was enjoyable
As the title says, the first 20 minutes or so was enjoyable then it turned into a predictable, stereotypical Disney film unfortunately. Jeff Bridges was the best part by far!
Eternals (2021)
More Boring, Unnecessary, Woke Garbage!
I've given up all hope of any new film or TV show to be any good let alone half ENGAGING! This movie's plot could have been done in an interesting way but, like the 'Woki' series, it was SLOOOOW and boring af!
The Walking Dead (2010)
Used to be one of the BEST Shows!
The Walking Dead sucks now! More like 'The Woking Dead!' They castrated Negan like Disney did to Loki and it's so SLOW with a pathetic 'villain' who runs the 'Capitol.' Such a shame. Can't wait for it to end. Was one of the best shows until recently. 👎
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
Worst 'Harry Potter' Movie
The first couple of Fantastic Beasts movies were MUCH better than this although nothing compared to the original Harry Potter series of course. Plot holes galore, boring characters and disservice to the primary FB cast who didn't seem to be as enthusiastic in their roles as they once were. This of course includes the legendary Johnny Depp whom was sorely missed in this film. Mad's performance as Grindelwald was just like any plain and ordinary 'bad guy' with the emotional range of a teaspoon as Hermione once famously said. My favourite parts were when the original 'Harry Potter' themes played although Hogwarts was an utter husk to how it was in the Potter franchise...
This is the first and only 'Potterverse' film that was lacklustre and disappointing imo. Hopefully the next films will step up their game because they can only use 'the pandemic' as an excuse for so much these days. A lot of shows & movies suck lately. Even ones that used to be great (Marvel, The Walking Dead etc.)
Hawkeye (2021)
The worst drivvel I've ever watched. Even MORE boring than Woki-Jok!
BOOOOOORING as heck and terribly dull characters where the actors clearly aren't enjoying it. Except for Hailee maybe.
I thought 'Loki' was boring but this; THIS has surpassed my expectations to the bottom of the ocean. At least the 'Joki' show had characters with a personality (although they butchered him).
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
Old-school Avengers!
There are SO many similarities to the 'Avengers' movie and It's cool! :D.
Loki: For All Time. Always. (2021)
Worst episode of a show EVER! Interesting and Important albeit very slow
Boring AF! Shame on you Marvel & Disney for thinking that this drivel is acceptable. 🤢😡
This is a necessary slog for the 'multiverse' to be explained in a pretty setting luckily but it will SERIOUSLY cause any 'regular' viewer to fall asleep! I'm sure Tom & Sophia were about to fall asleep in their chairs as well!
