A sure NFL Hall of Famer, which Eve greatness on the field, but hast to face so many influences off the field and is seemingly looking for peace. I don't find anything wrong with that, to each his own. He's been both of the outspoken leader, he's been the outspoken off the field person who challenges ideals that are out there, I know it's crazy that someone of his status actually says that he does not agree with certain doctrine in our social and political landscape. Believe me, the NFL is a melting pot for sure, but they have within them all of their beliefs and all of their experiences that make them the people they are and drive them to success. They choose to put that all aside and not make the NFL a social experiment, but make it a meritocracy with the goal. Winning just about at all costs. It is a moment in time in their lives. That is a very smart approach. The social fabric of our society is tribal and will destroy organizations where those tribes are all mixed together. I can't blame a guy who's trying to find his way even at 40+ years old. Not to mention, no one here that has reviewed this and bashed him to know and can withstand a microscopic review of their own life where they've made "" no mistakes ". It doesn't happen. No one can withstand that scrutiny. This was different from your typical NFL profile but he is different as well. Kind of reminds me of George Harrison of the Beatles who got into different things at that time. God bless him. I respect him for all the work he's done on the field and wish him well on his journey. And I'm not a Packers fan or a Jets fan however I do appreciate greatness.
The story of Elvis is the quintessential triumphant tragedy story. From a truly dirt, poor person to the highest points of stardom and still being held back from even more lightning in a bottle by Colonel Tom Parker, not letting him tour overseas. But I always grab me about the story is that there was no blueprint for anything back then. Certainly they were great singers, actors, etc. But this level of fame was different. For all the different reasons, whether they were good reasons or bad, or somewhere in between Elvis was the chosen one. And he struggled with that for most of his life. I enjoy hearing people giving him reverence for his contributions and his story. It is tragic beyond words how his the Klein affected him and was so rapid. At least he ate the world before they eat him. Incredibly sad. I would give this a nine, but only because I want more. Hopefully they'll be another one of like this covering the Vegas years. I agree with some of the other posters here. This wasn't all that in-depth. There's much more to say by people who were really there. But the Elvis machine keeps feeding the masses because so many of us want it. He was just simply taken too soon and people like me want more. I've never seen an artist be copied by so many tribute artist across the world. It always amazes me to see people putting so much effort and making a career out of it essentially. An amazing man for sure with an amazing story.
Good to see Stallone back. I didn't know what to think at first. It seemed pretty gritty, but as you move along, you realize it's not meant to be a real depiction of anything. It is just entertainment. And that is great. People complaining about the role, Stallone plays, romanticizing, bad people, etc. This is television. This is acting. Just enjoy the ride. It is not as dark as some of the other stuff out there that are gangster related. It is not really based in reality. It is simply entertainment. I would say the same for Taylor, Sheridan's other show, Mayor of Kingstown, same thought process here. And it's over the top in so many ways. It was never meant to be comparable to the mayor of your town. It's simply entertainment. And obviously entertainment that people love because Sheridan is everywhere right now. Enjoy the ride.
