Everything about this show is inauthentic. The hair is all wrong. Instead the hairdo's are some kind of bizarre amalgamation of modern blended with 1990's hair. The signature mannerisms and way of talking are completely absent! Neither the director nor the actresses have made even a tiny bit of effort to portray these famous actresses. Do they think we won't notice how they've just not bothered to put the effort in? It's annoying. The only costuming that even remotely resembles the era is Hedda Hopler's. The clothing of the two leading ladies is just some kind of slacks and shirts or bland dresses. Nothing was done here to capture this wonderul era in Hollywood. No wonder Rotten Tomatoes refused to even review this show. Nobody cared about authenticity - the show was thrown together to make some money while expending the least amount of effort.
Tedious and monotonous with gratuitous violence.
Watching this movie, or rather two thirds of it, gave me a distinct deja vu feeling that eventually became too much to bear and I had to throw in the towel. As each scene unfolded it was as if I'd already seen it a thousand times.
Maybe I've been spoiled by some seriously ingenious and original cinematic fare. Maybe I thought these veteran actors had finally been given something of worth in which to display their skills. But disappointed and frankly bored silly, I just couldn't watch another second of it.
What's hard for me to figure out is how on earth this movie earned itself a fair amount of stars from reputable sources.
