Look,! I understand I am a quarter of a century late to this party. I am up to episode 8 of the first season, and while eminently watchable, it is hardly the best thing I have ever seen. I will definitely stick with this but it needs to pick up the pace and interest big time. It's like 'The Bold and the Beautiful' with the odd bullet in the skull. I am really perplexed, I thought this was going to be something special and it's all a little bit meh!
Is Lorraine Bracco's character meant to be the most interesting? She is, yet I know nothing about Jennifer Melfi. Probably exemplifies how boring the rest of the characterisation is in this series. A bit of a hot mess at the moment. Yeah it's alright, not great, not hideous.

C'mon people. Stop with the negativity. Geez; you saw Danny Trejo and Mickey Rourke were in it; you knew what to expect.. The thing runs for only an hour and forty, sit down, stop thinking and just enjoy it. No Oscars here, but ultimately it was highly entertaining. Sometimes that is what one wants.
I must say I thought Anthony Michael Hall portrayed a bad ass quite convincingly, always remember him as Rusty in 'Vacation' and Brian in 'The Breakfast Club''; he's definitely doing something different here. This is nowhere near the worst film I have ever sat through, I quite enjoyed it. I never expected it to be a think piece, and it certainly wasn't. Sometimes mindless fun is OK.

Alright; many of the reviews are correct. The CGI was ordinary, just let it go. The acting is pretty good, the perspective highly entertaining. The plot quite original and engrossing. Do not quite understand the hate on this one. Gladiator; it ain't. Actually liked the plot more than Spartacus.
Oddly enough, Hopkins is somewhat out of place, probably got paid a packet by being there, pretty flat showing by him in all honesty. Not familiar with the rest of the cast, the characterisation of Vespasian's two sons was great, they pulled it off beautifully. Iwan Rheon was cast well, as Tenax I was unsure whether to love him or hate him. Give it a go folks. It's far from the worst thing you'll ever invest your time in.
