The positive first: 1. Although I thought this episode had far too much fan service, I did enjoy that there was a farewell scene between Ace and the 7th Doctor. For NuWho fans who don't know, Ace was the last companion of the original series, and I'd say one of the best, when the show went on hiatus in 1989. When Doctor Who returned in 1996 she was gone and hasn't been mentioned since other than one reference in the Sarah Jane Adventures. 2. The show is finally rid of the worst actor/actress to play The Doctor.
The worst....well the rest of the episode which is a complicated nonsensical mess that seemed to only serve as a vehicle to bring back Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann, along with David Bradley and a gaggle of old companions, to get cheap emotional responses from fans to make up for the miniscule reaction there would have been for Jodie Whittaker's farewell.
Is bringing back David Tenant an admission that Doctor Who is on its last desperate legs? Good luck to Ncuti Gatwa, I think he is going to need it.
Doctor Who needs to go on hiatus for another 15 years.
