GLASS CASA (2023), written and directed by Laa Marcus, is a darkly comedic bachellorette party "gone wrong" thriller that echoes the chaotic energy of the bachelor party "gone wrong" film, VERY BAD THINGS. The film is anchored by a talented ensemble cast, including a stand out performance by Harley Bronwyn as the intense yet charismatic bride to be, as well as strong performances by
Geri Courtney-Austein as the bubbly paranoid Evie, Nicole Clifford as the sharp-witted schemer, Alison Iles as the conflicted voice of reason, and Justin Michael Terry as their goofy wise cracking guy pal Charlie. Not to mention, a strong supporting cast of eccentric characters including Jon Huybrecht, Travis Laughlin, Xyla Glass, Julie Marcus, Anthony De Cruz, and Lizet Benrey. With its sharp script, moral diemas, and unpredictable twists, GLASS CASA offers a thrilling, suspense-filled whodunnit that will keep you hooked from start to finish.
What kind of film would you get if David Lynch made Night of the Living Dead? We may never know, but "Friend of The World" comes the closest. Shot entirely in black and white, this isn't your typical post apocalyptic zombie thriller. Its strange stylish 1960's vibe, along with edgy performances, twists, turns, and effective special effects propel this film beyond the same old same old of the end of the world zombie genre. "A Friend of the World" will make you think and question reality, as it takes you on a wild and trippy ride. Just go with it and enjoy the journey. It's definitely worth your time and not to be missed.
