A rare find. Intelligent, thoughtful and engaging movie
A very thoughtful and engaging movie that deals with real and difficult social issues and issues of love and family as experienced by a young interracial family during the covid lockdown and the social upheaval that followed the killing of George Floyd. Wonderful storyline and remarkable cast with great chemistry. Very real, believable, and relatable from beginning to end. The struggle and enduring love of both was made palpable, and indeed finding the grays is critical. This is an entertainment that is at once heart warming, intelligent, and educational. A rare quality film, I was surprised to have stumbled on on YouTube and I highly recommend.
From Scratch (2022)
A rare and beautiful series based on a true love story.
This is an amazing love story, masterfully produced and with incredibly talented cast. The chemistry between Zoe Saldana and Eugenio Mastrandrea was simply outstanding and a rare thing to witness in entertainment today. I have watched the series four times already, and each time the impact of this story is so deep and profound. I am moved both by the depth and purity of their love and their loss. The family dynamic around this love story is just as important and impactful. Truly, this is one of those love stories for the ages, a rare and beautiful series based on a true love story. An absolute must watch!
Dare to Be Wild (2015)
A beautiful, refreshing, inspiring film!
I absolutely loved this film and was pleasantly surprised to see the part on the travel to Lalibela! The film might be based on a true story, about the adventures of a young, nature loving Irish woman who sets out to create and preserve natural sacred spaces (i.e. Celtic Sanctuary, etc.) The story takes place in Ireland, England, and in the high-hills of Ethiopia at a sacred site called Lalibela. For those with green sensibilities and appreciation for travel, especially to remote places that we don't get much exposed to, then this film is quite a treat! The landscape in the high-hills of Ethiopia, the natural lifestyles, the people, the costumes, the religious ceremonies etc. were all beautiful to see. The film is well done with a great cast and its message is simple but potent.

The Karate Kid (2010)
I absolutely loved it!
I absolutely loved this remake of The Karate Kid! The Jaden and Chan combination was a great success and I loved seeing Taraji in this. I also liked the fact that the movie was filmed in China, a great change of scenery for American viewers and offers an opportunity to see what life is like abroad especially for kids. I thought Jaden did really well!
