Don't listen to the negative reviewers, I feel like those people are the ones that are really picking apart the film to it's bones. This movie has an interesting premise and plot, it has very good acting from actors that I personally have never seen save for one of the male cast members. The cgi what little there is and the makeup for the injuries were top notch in my opinion. The gore factor was just perfectly done and I wasn't left feeling like I didn't understand anything in the movie. Smile is definitely unique and exactly the type of horror movie I like to see. I love being pleasantly surprised because lately I've been disappointed.
It stays true to the show and old movies, the newer movies from the 90's were the new take on a new story. This cartoon was adorable and my son is obsessed with it. I love the opening and how they weren't afraid to keep a little dark humor even though it's a cartoon. Love the all star cast and I can't brag about this cartoon enough. From what I can tell you either love it or hate it but the ones that hate it clearly are not true Addams family fans. I mean if you're a movie buff then you'll know the history of the old black and white movies and the show. Do your research and you'll see this cartoon stays true to the original story for the most part.
This movie completely surprised me and stole my heart. I'm a huge cinema buff and I'm sucker for all of a movie, the score, the acting, atmosphere, ambiance, the way the camera angles I love it all! This movie was top notch for a shudder original. Those who left negative reviews simply don't have the depth to appreciate this jewel for what it is. I truly believed the actors and actresses were committed to their roles. The spells and the imagery of the witch symbols were phenomenal. The idea that fear within the blood could give so much information to a witch enjoying it was a totally brand new unique take. Bravo shudder hands down bravo!
