This movie has everything you want from a good summer blockbuster - very entertaining, with great directing by David Lynch and a soundtrack that was 80s perfection (with a few surprises that had me laughing to tears!). Ryan Gosling did an amazing job with both action and emotional scenes and the rest of the cast was perfectly cast and played well off of each other. It just had it all, I can't remember the last time I laughed (to tears) so much in the cinema. Still got a couple of songs stuck in my head on repeat... So, yes if you get a chance, definitely go see it in the cinema if you can because it's one of those movies worth seeing (and hearing) on the big screen!
I went into this one completely blind, haven't read the book and was pleasently surprised. The main actors had a great chemistry and yes, their shared scenes were hot and all that but what got me was the charm and the emotion I did not expect. There were a couple of scenes that got me and I even teared up a bit at the end.
Music is also an important part of this one and they did a good job with the songs and performances, you could tell they put in an effort to make them look like a real band. I even had a couple of songs stuck in my head for a bit even being am way past my boy band stage. I'd say the entire movie was way more entertaining then I expected and the two main leads did a great job!
