So we have the first movie of the replacement captain america i.e. Mackie, and I've gotta say it was one of the worst MCU franchises ever.
Let me elaborate. We have reverted back to the Edward Norton hulk universe, where the character of Ross is being played by Harrison Ford for obvious reasons that William Hurt is deceased. And now he is the US president estranged from his daughter Norton/hulk's ex girlfriend because she blamed daddy for doing evil things to hulk instead of helping him. Then there is this Sterns character whom quite honestly had forgotten about. I only remembered Tim Roth being the mad soldier who took the syrum and mutated into something so that he could combat hulk. I had to look up the incredible hulk imdb and go through the cast of characters to find this sterns character.
Anyway the story line was extremely weak, the plot was all over the place. They have discovered a new element more powerful and potent than vibranium called adamsomething or other.
Basically the only star from the Avengers and captain america bucky makes a brief appearance to give mackie som pep talk, and Liv Tyler has two brief entries, one on the phone and one brief in person visit to her incarcerated former president father. She could not have uttered more than three short sentences in the whole movie, and I bet she got very well paid for that otherwise I don't think she would have accepted another role in comicbook universe franchise.
To cut a long story short I disliked this veryy much and wish I had not watched it. I have not watched any of the spiderman cartoon movies because I think the concept of turning the franchise into cartoons is stupid!
This one gets a minus 5 from me!

I whizzed through a number of comments and headings before I started to watch the movie, so I had very low expectations and was expecting to be disappointed.
Actually, I liked the movie. For starters it has three very strong cast, Dockery, Grace and Wahlberg. The fact that most of the movie was set in a tiny plane with only three characters did not bother me one bit. There have been plenty of movies about small planes with most of the movie shot in the plane.
The story was not far-fetched. Wahlberg was the hired assassin who had tortured the real pilot to death. Dockery was the US Marshal with a tragic history a bit like Kate Beckinsale in Whiteout.
Topher Grace's comedic/sarcastic character stopped the movie from being totally boring. And Wahlberg playing the bad guy which he very rarely does (I believe this is his third bad guy role) was spot on. In fact watching him in this you forget that he plays the funny or serious action guy in most of his movies for 90 minutes.
Dockery is a powerful actress. She has her own Shakespearean group. I have not seen a single episode of Dowton Abbey, but I have seen her in three other major Hollywood movies.
All in all I do not know what all the fuss is about with these reviewers. I think they just had a bad Christmas last year and the year hasn't started off good for them and they're taking out on this movie.
I enloyed it!

Being a believer I like Christian movies. I only saw it just now (8 years after its release). I saw a brief clip on Instagram and searched it on IMDb and decided to watch it. And I have not regretted it at all.
Now there are a few commentators here that are going on about this being a Mormon movie or even going as far as saying a Mormon propaganda movie.
I did not see it what way. I saw the dramatization of a true story; a story about a girl who in her tragic short life was full of pure love and kindness and a strong faith in God and Christ.
The interviews and actual clips of the actual people and Kennedy herself were truly moving as was the whole movie.
I do not agree that the acting was bad. I have seen worse acting than this in plenty of other movies.
I enjoyed it!
