Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Terrible
I gave a generous 2/10 for this film. I didn't get past the first hour. I'm not sure why it says it was supposed to be set in 1984 because there was no real sense that the characters were actually in that year, apart from the scene in the mall at the beginning. Diana Prince mostly looked like she was a current day person who had been beamed back to what was supposed to be 1984. It was deathly dull for the first hour but I neither know nor care whether it got better or not after that. It didn't seem like enough research had been done, or experience gained, about 1984 to set the scene from that year.
The Beekeeper (2024)
Just 100 minutes of same old Statham
I don't know why I thought this would be different to almost every other Statham film. The fight scenes could be in any of his other films and are beyond belief even more than the others. The only thing that borders on believable are the people working in the data harvesting centres. The villains are terrible and some of the better actors like Minnie Driver and Jeremy Irons must be thankful that they're already established actors because this film wouldn't have helped their careers at all. They must look back on it and wonder why they got involved at all. I think I was very generous in my mark out of 10.
Hooligan Escape The Russian Job (2018)
Absolutely awful
I just couldn't even watch all of it, not even an hour. The acting was terrible and the storyline even worse. Why do directors get football supporters/hooligans all wrong? The clothes weren't what they would wear. And how or why would they end up in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere in part of an unfathomable undercover operation? And a government spy, or agent, as part of their group (I won't use the term 'firm' or 'mob' because they weren't)? I think Amazon need to review what films they offer because, after the last two that I've chosen on their library, they have a lot of terrible movies in their service.
The Quiet One (2017)
Absolutely terrible
There are no words to describe how bad this film is but I'll try. Badly acted, the characters are very, very unconvincing and the whole plotline and story are just too terrible for words. Avoid like the plague. If I could give a zero rating, I would. The worst character is the gangster's son who is the least convincing of an unconvincing bunch, the production is terrible (watch out for the old fella who has a pint given to him, but a quarter of it is gone on his first sip but then, miraculously, turns into a full pint as the camera pans away). It's 90 minutes or so of my life I'll never get back.
24 Little Hours (2020)
The worst film I've ever seen?
If not the worst then close to it. Bad acting, bad production, flimsy characters. I only gave it a 1 because I had to give it something
