The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch (2020)
not bad
I've started watching this docuseries out of pure curiosity but I don't see where the horror is like it said. Animal mutilation? If you lived on a farm where the famers slaughter animals for food you get used to see slaughtered animals. Something attacking the Alpaca's, If you have ever watched a nature documentary about predators hunting, that's not a horror. It's part of the life circle. What I liked about it was all the experiments they have done to reveal the UFO's. But all the equipment failure whenever they tried something got predictable. One the other hand it's not over yet so I'm definitely going to watch the new season when it's getting released. Hope it's not going to be to scary.
Belgravia (2020)
Loved it but...
When Belgravia were released I watched the first 2 episodes and then got distracted by other stuff so I decided to start again and eventually finished the series. Must say not to bad at all.
But there's one thing that bothers me and that is the plot hole of Sophia's marriage. Apparently her ladies maid had the marriage certificate for what, 26 years. Wow that's a long time. I mean Charles were born 9 months after the marriage and Edmund were killed in the Battle of Waterloo.
Why didn't the maid gave the certificate to Anne before Sophia died or even after that?
Were just wondering.
Other than that I enjoyed it.
The Ghost and the Darkness (1996)
A thrilling tale!!!!
The first time I saw this movie were years ago and way before internet. It was on a videotape we borrowed from our neighbors. I was scared out of my wits. But I was so captivated by the story I couldn't stop watching. I had eventually learned what the exact circumstances were why those two lions were man-eaters. Yes the internet provide the exact information about actually happened.
There is an episode in the Mysteries at the Museum series were this incident were covered. It was because one of the lions lost one of his fangs and several other teeth on it's lower jaw were missing and hunting its normal prey became difficult so humans were an easier prey. Apparently the other lion just went along. But still as the presenter, Don Waldon said, "It stop the British Empire in it's tracks". But back to the movie I found it to be a good movie. Not like one of those other ridiculous horror movies. I don't like to watch those. The scene were Patterson's wife and son get out of the train and gets attacked and kill by the lion still haunts me (even if it were a nightmare Patterson had). And every time you see the grass blows in the wind and the top of a lions head appear, it' like oh @#$% here we go again. And then that last phrase that new guy from Britain said "I wish I was here for the hunt" and Patterson's answer "No you don't" I give this a 9/10. But I'm still too scared to watch it again. (Although I have it in my collection of movies)
Prince William (2002)
Better than I first thought
I stumbled on this movie on YouTube, and the title catches my eye. At first I thought it's gonna be cheesy but after the first half an hour it became better. It might not be an exact portrayal of events but it gives one an idea of what those two boys went through. Some times I laughed and sometimes I cried. I think it must be very difficult for them to get people they can trust. One scene that actually broke my heart is when William found out that his friend betrayed him by selling photos to the press. But the one that was his enemy but became his friend was actually nice. I also like that when that pack of photographers came to the school that the school's rugby players formed literally a wall to shield William and Harry from the press.
All in all it was an eye opener, and you realize that the royal family lives in a gilded cage. Not a life I would wish for my self.
And today those two boys are grown men with their own families (those four kids are adorable, hope to see a photo of Lilibet Diana soon). Has anyone realized that both Prince William and Prince Harry's daughters are Elizabeth Diana? There is a Charlotte in front of the Elizabeth and Harry used Lilibet in stead of Elizabeth but it's the same nonetheless. There might be a rift between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royal family, but I hope it will be dissolve one day.
Bridgerton: After the Rain (2020)
Stunning series
From the first episode I was hooked. I haven't read the books so I had no idea about the storyline or even that this was actually based on a book series. I love these time period dramas. So after I finished watching this season I was quit surprise to whom the notorious Lady Wistledown is. But although it was revealed to us the ton still has no idea who the author is, am I right? I hope that it will be revealed later to the ton in the series. But to let the cat out of the bag now would spoil the fun. Good ending for a nice romance. I'm glad Simon did not left Daphne otherwise he must ended up a very unhappy man. Although the order of the children born to them was reversed I still like the fact that they had a son. (And his father did not win). Giving this a 10. Music was good. The plot excellent. An the chemistry between the lead actors were superb. Really a nice show. Love it.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Power Down (2009)
A nice Episode
I've just rewatched this episode because I have remembered something and wanted to refresh my memory.
Overall it was a nice story, how the team had struggled to figure things the old fashion way when technology wasn't as advanced as it was today or will I say as when this episode played of.
But one teeny tiny thing bothered me is how in the end when the power got back on and everything just magically started up and the team just happily type away as if there were no interruption. Desktop computers does not start up automatically, You have to power it up manually and wait a few minutes for everything to get sorted. Or is this just the magic of TV?
Any way other than that it was okay.
Spoilers, What spoilers? This series is so old I think most people that's interested in these type of series would have seen it by now.
Whatever Love Means (2005)
Not bad and it was insightful.
This was quite an insightful tale about Charles and Camilla. I know if he could, he would have married her back then, and he did eventually. That said, it seems to my what they wanted to do, was to mold Diana in this quiet wife that would eventually fade into the background. They tried to played her and in the end, with the press, the public support and the public's fascination with Princess Diana, she played them. And the rest, they say, is history.
Its quite interesting the fact that Princess Anne had a fling with
Andrew Parker-Bowles, I never knew that, it's also in the last episode of the Crown Season three.
One thing that bothers me though is, why was Queen Elizabeth so quiet in this film. She barely said anything throughout the film. I mean she is after all the head of the family. And any one who seen 'The Crown' would know that the Queen doesn't hesitate to give her opinion.
9/11: The Falling Man (2006)
I remember.
I remember the day it happened and I don't think I will ever forget it. I was horrified by it. And I felt really sorry for the people that lost their loved ones in this event. And after watching this documentary I still feel the same. But I want to point out something. It doesn't matter weather those "jumpers" stayed in the buildings or not. Those attacks on those buildings was a merciless act of mass murder. Nothing else. And I believe that God had mercy on those poor souls who had died that day.
Anne with an E (2017)
This Anne is a little bit different but not all that bad.
Well since I have take a liking in the 1985 Anne adaptation, the story of Anne really fascinates me. I discovered the books and TV series about Anne rather late in my life. You can say there was a gap in my education. But I'm glad I had discovered it. And because of my fascination with the Anne story I paid a lot of attention to details in the story.
So the thing I want to point out is the whole Billy/Anne conflict. In the books Billy is quite older than Anne and he did not have a problem with Anne. In contrary he actually admired Anne. That is according to L.M. Montgomery in Anne of Green Gables and in Anne of the Island he actually had Jane asked Anne to marry him. That did not sound like the Billy that called Anne "that ugly orphan", and trying to beat her up. He wasn't even their age, as I mentioned earlier.
The young actor that plays Gilbert is almost as good as Jonathan Crombie but then again I really like the 1985 adaptation of Anne.
And Anne is her own chatty self and her reaction to the Gilbert is as true as ever.
Other than that this is portrayed out of a way different angle. But not that bad at all.
The Bureau of Magical Things (2018)
Like it!!
I have watched the first episode an was impressed. The acting is good and I'm so glad it's not like other stories in this genre like the potter movies or charmed ect. Make no mistake I like the Harry Potter books and movies but I don't like charmed. This show is funny and light. A real family friendly show.
