We all know that gay theme is highly censored in China so the rumor about a gay themed movie 'accepted' in China was acclaimed as a miracle.
The director didn't say if the movie was censored after it was submitted to Chinese media regulators for review but considering it's only 83 minutes long, most likely it was.
The theme is very subtle, but they have done a very good job in giving away their feelings, you can actually feel the connection despite physical contact between them is very limited.
The direction is interesting, the movie flows in a non linear narration but can be followed very easily and you can totally feel the artistic vibes in it.
As some have said, 'this understated approach may become a model for other productions seeking to get LGBT storylines past China's media regulators' [cit. Raymond Phang]

Good, it's a low budget. Good, is independent.
But.
Why bad actors? I am so sorry to say that but they act like a 'let's play On Stage in the backyard' game. Probably they aren't bad per se but they aren't nicely directed, that's for sure.
There are also several flaws in the story line that not make sense, even considering the concept of world layers. Not 'spoilering', if you going to watch it you will probably notice yourself.
Honestly I can appreciate Sci-Fi without big special effects but I need to 'feel it' to enjoy and this wasn't the case.
