I managed to catch this film when it screened at CIFF late last year. While it seems that the director, Emily Schooley, is often known for her work in horror this was a surprisingly pleasant turn from her usual fare.
Overall the film has a very European feel to it, in terms of pacing and the type of shots used. It is ultimately a love story between two women and the way Schooley unfolds their individual struggles is raw and compelling to watch. The film is most certainly written for intelligent cinephiles with a twist ending that is subtlely set up early on but very easy to miss.
I would really love to see this film get wider distribution and be sure to check it out if it screens at a festival near you.
