The Bastard Son & the Devil Himself (2022)
Some blue powder, some pink powder and some gore with it.
Slow an unconvincing show.
Productions is not the cheappest one, story is not so original, but still isn't the worst one. It lacks that compelling element. Screenplay and acting varies, but characters are not persuasive and not developed at all. It seems unfinshed, in spite of almost eight hours of programme. I was annoyed by music which was irritateldy inserted whenever it was appropriate ot not. Still I've watched it (with some fast forwarding), because it is about witches, but my impression is that the production was heavily affected by lack of time and limited budget. One star for the effort.
Sort Of (2021)
Refreshing experience
Unpretentious & fluid, I feel the rating should be higher, as it deserves better markings than these. It is a kind of 'coming of age story' presented in well-cut dynamics of situations and emotions.
Freud (2020)
A very dark side of Vienna or "The Knick" in European "stimmung"
Absolutely interesting crime series with half of Vienna under dark hypnosis, so intense that there were moments when I was even genuinely concerned fort Freud's life! I liked how elements of magic were incorporated in the story, episodes are precisely fabled, with no dull or with unnecessary moments, and there are even a few cabaret-like numbers (nice touch). Also, nude scenes are pretty real, true to life.
I've just finished episode 6 and hopefully its culmination and resolve will be equally good. There are elements for further season(s), surely this Dr. Freud deserves it. A solid 9 from me.
p.s. I don't understand why people expect it to be just another biopic and do not appreciate its original approach?
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
A classsic binge!
Nice one, I enjoyed - don't even know why I gave 9 of 10...
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
So much fun!
Dan Stevens as Russian Lemtov was perfect! In total this movie is so much fun! Music is done professionally, Eurovision style captured in full!
The Bad Batch (2016)
A Different American Movie
So many people raged about it, but I disagree - it's cannibalism sequences were very realistically given.
