The Commander: Blackdog (2005)
"Blackdog" saves the day.
Much appreciated revisiting of the Commander's behavior in the Lampton's recent arrest and another investigation into the doctored CCTV tapes implicating Mike Hedges' involvement. It puts the first episode into perspective and shows us the true despicable nature of the Commander. David O'Hara is perfect in the role of investigator and is a delight to watch piece together the evidence in both cases. The level of corruption they are all capable of stooping to is quite surprising and I find no redeeming qualities in the Commander. It'll be interesting to see how she behaves in subsequent episodes.
Silent Witness: The Fall Out: Part 1 (2002)
The addition of Leo and Harry
This fast paced episode introduces two important new characters, Leo Dalton and Harry Cunningham. As colleagues they work perfectly together but their roles seem very overshadowed by Sam. After she leaves the show they come into their own and their roles blossom into the amazing quirky partnership we grow to love. They are truly well-written and well-acted characters.
Silent Witness: Death by Water: Part 2 (2004)
It will survive and thrive
This clever episode confirms that Silent Witness can survive without the brilliant Amanda Burton and is in the very good hands of "Leo and Harry" with Emilia Fox ready to sparkle in her role as Nicki, who appears temporarily in their morgue to work on ancient bones but quickly becomes a solid member of the team.
Unforgotten (2015)
Definitely Unforgotten ....
I can't add to what has already been said about these two Seasons. The incredible writing, acting, plot twists, back stories etc... and it's so refreshing to watch a dectective be so humble, empathetic, pensive and polite to her persons of interest instead of the brash, loud, hard female detectives in US crime dramas.
I've been riveted by the episodes of both Seasons so far and can't wait for a third Season.
Last Tango in Halifax (2012)
Real and addictive...
I accidentally started recording Season 3 on PBS and immediately fell in love with this series. I'm not surprised it won so many BAFTAs and was enjoyed by people of all ages. It's so well acted and the srtoylines are so believable. The characters are flawed yet we sympathize with all of them. I immediately purchased Season 1 & 2
Thief of Hearts (1984)
Always remember this film ...
I saw this film IN 1984 and loved it. To this day, every time I see Steven Bauer, David Caruso or Barbara Willians I flashback to this film. It left a lasting impression on me both for its chilling concept and it's execution of the story. The acting, soundtrack, locations and cinematography were all great and the film was both intimate and erotic yet as chilling and scary as a Hitchcock film. The chemistry between the leads was electric and believable. Steven Bauer's looks certainly didn't hurt either.
I'm surprised it got some bad reviews ... it's one that will always stick in my mind as very entertaining.
