Well, this is not what others call "a movie", but for me definitely the very best cinema experience of the year (Berlin Filmfestival)! 450 gags within 84 minutes, if you know his movies-- and still 250, if you're a newbie...for me a definite one to-take-onto-the-island!!!!
This stand-up-oneman-show (John Waters about life and his movies) was recorded for netflix, an American online videotheque (who released it exclusively to its customers first) and was released as a regular buy-DVD in the UK in November. It is worth every cent /penny and contains two very entertaining Q&A sessions, that are nearly as long as the feature itself!

This is one of my ten movies to take with me onto a lonely island!
Made with absolutely no money on the streets of New York. Polishgirl(no English language knowledge!) comes to NY, loses all her money to an Italian crook and swears to find him. Finally he is the one who falls in love with her... Very simple storyline with extremely funny misunderstandings, chases, warm-hearted characters and a incredible ending. Reminds me of the early Jim Jarmush movies. Levy is nowadays known for the Jewish comedy "Alles auf Zucker" and the brand new Hitler- comedy. If anyone in German cinema is allowed to do one, then him.
Hope X Films Germany will release a DVD...

I saw the short version at the European Screen market during the Berlin Film Festival ,and I have to tell that this version is nothing more than a visualization. No real story, unclear jumps between reality and vision. Bombastic sets, incredible costumes -- but then the same road is used for Vienna and Paris street scenes. Besides that: Nicolai Kinski (son of late Klaus) as Schiele is a diamond in this. Malkovich is the monolith in this nothing of a storyline.
This picture urgently needs an English synchronization. The German/Austrian actors contra American/English mix is horrible. This is a German who writes this!
I hope I will see the long one somewhen. Perhaps it makes it much clearer.
