Gold Raiders (2024)
Terrible, absolutely terrible.
Wow, I mean WOW! This is the worst film I have seen. The acting is just ridiculous both in physical form and verbal form. Camerawork is amateurish and make up? We just had to laugh. There were so many errors in the film and as much as I wanted to walk out, I was forced to stay till the end. Boy did I cringe. I paid my money and regretted it every single second. To give money to the poor soul who directed this, I felt sorry for the real needy people that need the money. How such trash can get out there when there are so many great and upcoming directors who are not given the chance to show their work, and this film is on here!
Skinamarink (2022)
Watching the cat sleep is more interesting
How to make yourself bored, watch this film. It is one of the most boring, uninteresting, strange and ridiculous films I've ever watched. I spent half of my time on my mobile and trying to wake the cat up to play.
Was this supposed to be horror? What on earth was the director, writer, etc thinking? There are some reviews saying how horrific the film is. Where they get this idea from, I don't know but these people must scare quite easily. BOO!
Anyway, I personally don't recommend the film unless you want to spend time with your cat and have this film playing in the background, and even that is probably a waste of time.
Firenado (2023)
A big releif when the film ended
I knew very well that this was not going to be entertaining but as I do love disaster films, I thought I'd watch it. First it reminded me of Hurricane Heist though the latter was much, much better. Second, there were so many things wrong with it. One of many, there they are staring at a tornado which looks as though they are only meters away from it, and not a single hair is out of place. The tornado isn't affecting anything! I can go on and on with the hiccups throughout the movie.
I do say I give credit to some of the actors, in a way they were convincing and did a good job as actors but the criminals? They definitley could have acted a little better.
Was quite happy once the film finished; not happy because of the movie, but happy I didn't need to continue watching any more of it.
The Pope's Exorcist (2023)
Enjoyable
Quite enjoyed watching this film despite it's errors. Really, how can writers except their so called facts and put into films when the facts are wrong? It's embarressing! First, Segovia near the beach? NO! Do you know where Segovia is? Well the writers don't. Secondly, riding a mo-ped from Rome to Segovia. This will only take a couple of hours. He would have to have travelled 2678 km on that little thing.
There are others which are minor errors but please, get your facts correct before publishing, printing etc! It is a problem these days, even historical events are portrayed to be inaccurate and the sad thing is, people are believing the wrong history!
Fenómenas (2023)
Fun film to watch
This was quite an entertaining film. For the non Spanish people, the actors are comedians but do a great job as serious actors. There are some funny moments, especially within the dialogue which lightens the mood of the film.
Unfortunately, for me the ending was a little disappointing. The lead up to it was somewhat flat. There were incidents in the film which had to be questioned and really, why did they do this when it had nothing much to do with the story line.
All in all, the film was fun to watch. I enjoyed the characters (the three women) and it was also good to bring back the Hepta Group that was well known here years ago.
Portals to Hell (2019)
Not a bad show, but.....
I enjoy this show but a few things that get me irritated: "I'm here by myself....." a little silly saying this as the camera man is with them. The spirit box, they get answers and they don't continue with the questions. Katrina is great! I do love how fearless she can be. As for Jack? What the fu...? What was that? That is crazy! Nooooo! I mean, is he supposed to be a professional or just someone's famous son wanting to get into television? I don't find him interesting at all. Some of the questions he asks the witnesses are a joke as well - embarrassing to some extent. I do enjoy the historical stories of the places they visit, that is the most interesting thing of the show.
28 Days Haunted (2022)
Really?
I just couldn't quite sit there and take it all in. So many things happening which looked fake. The seance, the two men don't hold hands. Wow, so Mucho! Never have I seen a seance conducted with a circle broken. The acting wasn't much, I just kept shaking my head especially seeing the Demonologist, (fireman by day) yelling in anger at the unseen entity. I watched this because I thought it would be different from other silly paranormal ghost hunting shows, but I was wrong! Another one of those "let's put on an act for the viewers. I'm sure there will be a few who will believe all this and, the sad part is, there are!
Spooked: Scotland (2022)
Absolutely a great show.
I am a huge fan of this show and I truly adore Gail Porter. The only thing that got me a little annoyed is Chris Fleming. It seemed that the show is all about him. Nearly half of the episode is based around him and his spiritual technique which I find at times childish and not well acted. And adding to this is that there are times he does over act and it looks not only suspicious but truly fake!
Sharkula (2022)
Absolutely Terrible
You know who these people are that give these films a 10/10 rating? I kept cringing from the moment the film began. How on earth can you call these production films? There are so many talented film makers out there who are struggling to get money, to produce quality films and out comes this garbage! The story line / plot was not thought about, the actors not believable - in fact they were terrible and embarrassing and the special effects? Laughable. The whole film is laughable and if someone calls this a a great film (a masterpiece in the making), they have no idea what film making is all about.
H.P. Lovecraft's Witch House (2021)
Really!
This film actually won awards? Wow, I am lost for words here. Ok, let's move on. This adaptation is an insult to Lovecraft's story. (9 awards? Really?) Of course, let us use some female sexuality in here: naked, sultry, sexy, it will surely interest some people. They could have worked on the acting instead but no, sex sells. (There must be a typo with the 9 awards won.)
What is happening with films in this day and age? So much rubbish, no originality and films winning awards. It must have been a family and friends award night.
Fire Island (2022)
Same old cliches, same old gay blah blah blah
I am so tired of these films where you have sexy, perfect, unblemished bodies, gay dorks not being excepted, unable to find love. For years and years the same thing is being portrayed and it seems film makers can't come up with a different story line. I love the Europeans when they make gay films. It is raunchy, you have all types of gay men from bears to admirers and so on. I didn't watch all the film because I found it ridiculously stupid. I am gay, I am big, I am not hot, I don't go round prancing in public and I don't need to look like a God to be able to find a lover. Also, sex is not the only thing gay men live for.
The Batman (2022)
The worst of them all
Now, this was utterly boring! Batman seemed robotic - actually it was like he didn't want to talk throughout the movie and his voice so monotonous it made you want to slit your wrist!
The film was so, so, so, so slow! Nothing about it was exciting and did I see it was nominated for an award? I am tired of the Batman films.
Hollywood, think of something new for goodness sake. You have run out of ideas? There are many new directors out there who may be able to give you some ideas. Just please stop giving us rubbish!
Uncharted (2022)
Excellent film with a few hiccups!
We watched Uncharted last night and I have to say it was quite enjoyable. Not a dull moment. BUT, I just couldn't help not overlooking the story errors. 1. The crosses are Templar and that type of cross was the original Templar Knight's cross before it was changed to a single cross. 2. When arriving in Barcelona, Flamenco music was being played. (I couldn't stop laughing at this. So wrong!) Flamenco is not a Catalan tradition, it is more South of Spain. I can go on with more errors but I guess it's only a film. I do hope there are more to follow.
Zvyozdniy razum (2022)
It had potential.
Not really well acted. It had a good story line and the special effects were okay but when it came to delivering the dialogue, the actors just couldn't pull it through. Egor Koreshkov was hard to watch as he was the worst when it came to acting out the lines. The film would have been enjoyable to watch if they only saw how bad the acting was.
Nightmare Alley (2021)
Good film but something lacking.
I have to say that this was an interesting film. Not what I expected from Guillermo del Toro as, though there was that hint of his with that supernatural feel though it was not brought out into the open.
The actors were sensational. Just loved watching them do what they do best. Toni Collette just seems to get better and better - loved that woman from her deays as Muriel in Muriels Wedding. Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchete and William De foe are excellent. I give credit to the actors but as for the story, though I found it interesting, something did lack! This does not mean it wasn't an enjoyable film. 2.30 hrs is long but I didn't find myself bored.
House of Gucci (2021)
Terrible
Well, first of all Lady Ga Ga can't act and why on Earth was she picked to act in this film, I have no Idea! It also intrigues me that fans of Lady Ga Ga Love her no matter what she does.
It is a long film as well and in most parts it was too damned boring. Even good old Al who is one of my favorite actors seemed to have lost something in his profession.
I usually don't watch anything with Lady Ga GA but because of the other actors whom I thought would bring the film to life, decided to watch it - and regretted it.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
If only the writers thought a bit more on the story
I gave it a 3 because of all the errors in the film. The story was good but there were quite a bit of inconsistencies. I won't mention them as it may ruin the story for others who have not watched the film but really? Professionals writing and directing and the errors are there, hard to ignore. Well, i will point out a couple: the suits who were worn by the original Ghostbusters seemed to fit the kids quite well, perfect actually! And the story tells of how the grandfather took all the equipment leaving the Ghosbusters totally dry and there they happen to turn up with their own equipment. For me, the best Ghostbuster film was with the all girl team. Funny and entertaining. This film did lack a few things and there didn't seem to be any originality to the film.
Agnes (2021)
From Good to utter rubbish
I agree with most of what people wrote here. The film had a nice start: exciting, thrilling and dramatic then, it just fell into a heap of a mess. It was two stories in one. First half was of Agnes and the second half was of Mary. Quite boring actually and all the while waiting for more of the first half to happen. Nothing, just talk, talk and talk. It quickly explained of what happened to the first half of the actors and that was it. It would have been great if they continued the story with what happened to the other actors instead of just discarding them.
Ghosts (2021)
Not as good as the original British series.
I just couldn't get into this! After watching the British serious which I found extremely funny and every bit entertaining, the American version was boring and it seemed to try very hard to make itself on par with the British one.
The ghosts are not funny at all and though a couple of them were exactly the same, their character was nowhere close to the original.
Thor was awful, and the young politician didn't have that charisma as the British person had. Even the couple who inherited the house didn't attract me. The husband played by an Indian guy to replace the black British man was nowhere as interesting nor funny.
Witches of Amityville Academy (2020)
Total Garbge
Even "real true horror fans" will look at this is being a waste of time. Money spent on garbage! I really don't know where the talent has gone in the last few years. I remember b grade films in the 70's and 80's were 100 times better than the rubbish that is being made. In honesty, I give credit for those who have started out in the film making business but please, ensure that the actors can act! The lines spoken are believed. A lot of the dialogue in this film sounded rehearsed and at times, the acting was too much. Either there is not enough or the actors go overboard.
I am going back to re-watch all the great old films that were made. Not giving anymore time to these awful and embarrassing movies that are now being created.
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
Pretty Entertaining
I have to admit, this was much better than the first part and there are a lot of things I liked about it. Acting was great, story line quite good though one thing really bugged me towards the end.
Both the sisters get killed, axed, stabbed repeatedly. One of the sisters kept getting knifed then Mr savior comes along and gives her mouth to mouth resuscitation and tries to pump start her heart. Now, blood was coming out of her mouth, she has a number of knife wounds where blood would gush out ..... I really found it pathetic and she opens her eyes and "Oh my, I'm alive" Yes, I may be a little too picky but remember, the audience do take more notice of what they are watching.
The Horrific Evil Monsters (2021)
This is embarrassing to watch
Well, well, well. I was unfortunate to see this and this garbage was a waste of my time. I know of other film directors who create well crafted films with actors who can "act" and show their abilities. This film gives nothing! I cringe at the way these actors portray their character - they are no actors and you can actually hear how they had rehearsed their lines. The acting is false! This is an embarrassment to film making. Even the plot needed to be re-thought. What the hell were you thinking?
There is no humour, it is not monstrously horrific and what is so epic about it. This film must have been self funded because I can't see how this "trash" would have been funded by film houses.
Hotel Inferno 3: The Castle of Screams (2021)
Terrible!
This was really a total waste of time. What you saw in the last 2 films had the same in this one. Gore? Not really, it looked too fake. For me the 3 films had way too much of close ups, which you can see, it was all "made up". At times you could tell some of the creatures were wearing masks and also their necks were visible which looked a little silly when they had all this make up on and their necks were showing.
I didn't like the acting (the creatures). Once the camera was on them it looked like they were posing for that brief moment before the director blurted out "action". In a few scenes they stood there trying to look either imposing or scary, which, neither both fit the category.
In all, there was nothing I found interesting nor entertaining about this film - actually sad to call it a film! More like a game where you are hunting for creatures and basically salivating at watching their brains explode and blood spurting out like a fountain.
Beyond Hell (2019)
Do they think this is a good film?
The first couple of minutes I just had to fast forward this rubbish. Saw the pathetic horror image which made me laugh and skipped a few more minutes. The dialogue was probably written by someone's 8 year old son or daughter. Then there is the girl to girl kissing. Now c'mon, sick and tired of seeing wasted film on girls kissing. Why? to get the male audience? Anyway, really not worth watching but if the actors thinks they were good, and the director thinks they did a great jon then kudos. But believe me and other, this is an embarrassment!
36 Husbands (2019)
They tried, but it's a fail.
First, I noticed all the positive 8 - 10 out of 10 reviews were written a day after this film was listed on here. Second: the reviewers have only reviewed this title since September 2019 !!!
Anyway, there wasn't anything in the film that made me want to believe that this was a film. Some funny moments and that's where the 1 star comes into it. I cringed at the fighting scenes where you could see it was rehearsed. Overall, the film tries to be funny but doesn't work. The actors try too hard to be funny and certain times the acting was forced.
