San kei hap lui (2011)
So good.
I'm not much for campy comedy action films. this was not; it was just an honestly good film! fun; good characters, good action. I personally would have liked more action and a longer length; but for what the movie makers were trying to accomplish it was perfect. i gave it a seven out of ten just because some parts were a bit too much campy. good job over all though. i'd love to see a sequel or a prequel. i kinda felt it was a week in the life of goku and chichi (which for me was a plus). the villain was a bit weak, and the supposed masters too goofy; but all in all i liked this movie; and recommend it for what that might be worth. enjoy.
Megamind (2010)
im having convolutions of disgust
this is probably the worst movie i've seen in years! who wrote this piece of (passionate- profanity)HT! if you've seen the trailers then you've seen the best parts because the movie is nothing like the trailers. it just goes to show mega talents do not make a mega flick. jonah hill, was terrible, will was horrible, and brad? he had 5 lines. the crazy fish side kick was in the beginning and end. the plot was about a silly romance, which didn't make the adults enjoy the flick more nor get to the kids. like they care if two grown-ups kiss and become dumb and dumber? i read a review earlier about how it was comparable to stabbing your eyes out with a dull spoon; i have to agree. my kids liked the blue guy, so i suppose that is the level of success dreamworks is basing this on.
The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes: The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax (1991)
One of my favorite episodes, so far
Some reviewers are critical of John Madden for deviating from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original, but... I found Sherlock's "failure" in the end, a humanizing element which i enjoyed.
This is one of my favorite episodes, so far. When I was watching the episode i was impressed with the directing. The nice crane shots grabbed my eye, especially. Also, the narrative structure deviated from the other episodes which i liked. After Looking at Madden's Filmography, the director of the future Oscar winning "Shakespeare in Love", to name one great movie he's made, i knew, "The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax", was definitely going to be one of the best episodes in this Great series Jeremy Brett Immortalized with his genius portrayal.
Sherlock Holmes is a victorian "Superhero"; We love our heros, but they bore us eventually because we know they always win in the end. The journey of their successful ventures is how we take our pleasure. Seeing them fail though, makes them relatable to our own weaknesses. They step down from the clouds as gods and become powerful demagogic humans. At least that's what i thought when i saw the episode.
Great episode, good villain, great ending.
The Passion of the Christ (2004)
Powerful!
Whatever your opinions may be religiously, dogmatically, politically and/or philosophically, the bottom line is Jesus was, is and will remain to be one of the most powerful figures in human history.
Mel Gibson is an artist; as a director you are an artist using film as your media. Artists tell a story, not "the" story. Gibson gave us an interpretation of the "passion"; just as Michaelangelo did, just as DA Vinchi did, just as Scorsese did. it was visually stunning, an emotional journey stirring the soul; which is the point of any piece of art, to capture you visually and stimulate you emotionally and spiritually. Since this is Mel's 2nd film i can not say his masterpiece; i hope he outdoes himself in his projects to come, but in my mind a masterpiece of film media.
to quote one of Mel's other movies, "everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives", and as Yeshua, says in this movie, "see mother, i make things anew" this story is about the death of a man, Jesus, one of histories most important figures, if not the most important; he truly lived and he made the world anew.
I highly recommend this movie.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
Disney ruined a great book
Leave it to Disney to ruin a great book/ story/ movie. C.S Lewis' genius was reduced to a barney movie. Instead of all the expensive cheesy effects, green screen and bad animation they should have paid for a better director and script. All the meaningful moments were glossed over and none of the characters were believable. The fight/ action scenes were like a bad video game, none of it seemed important. In the book you see the characters evolve and you believe these kids when they transform over time into kings and queens, fighting minitars and such. Leave it to Disney to not have faith in the kids in the audience and us and dumb everything down. When did our society completely loose faith in the intelligence and depth of our kids? Seeing children's movies like these makes me want to vomit because of the trash we are feeding our kids minds. What happened to the jungle books, lord of the flies, the Narnias, the wrinkle in times, and lord of the rings Etc.? Stories and productions meant for kids but not dumbed down for 2 year olds. The book is so incredibly better than this film; it's embarrassing. Lord of the Rings hit it on the nail, this missed it by a football field. to bad Warner Bros didn't do it. the director should be shot and the mouse should be hanged. i was very much hoping this would be great and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. this was more of a Disney TV movie of the week instead of a major motion picture. i wanted an Oscar movie i got a movie that wouldn't even get nominated for an emmy.
