I watched this in early summer 2024, this show really resonated with me. The acting is terrific, and the creators put a lot of effort into making the post-pandemic landscape seem real. I can relate to the tension the show delves into of wanting to protect oneself vs the human desire to connect. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I often felt very wary and suspicious of other people, but as the pandemic has loosened its grip, I've felt the desire to connect more strongly. Still, that feeling lingers, and this show poignantly captures that.
I had read the book some time ago, but didn't remember the details, so when I watched the show, I did spend a lot of thought in comparing it with the novel. The themes of loss, grief, trauma, and the human desire to do more than survive as lone wolf individuals are timeless and universal. Highly recommend Station 11.
