Dial S for Santa (2023)
Not bad story line but....
Not a bad story line but the main character Lana is one of the worse Hallmark actors I have watched. She is so fake and has little to no range of emotion or abilities on her face, body or voice. The support actors were pretty good just a shame that the main female actor was just so bad it took away from what the others were providing in the characters. I premise of the movie and the town or neighbouring store owners coming together and all getting along. Not much more to say on the movie just hoping to not see the actor in any other Hallmark movies or if so. Get her a great acting coach to help her.
Confessions of a Christmas Letter (2024)
The Worse
I thought that the movie would get better as it went a long but after about half an hour I couldn't finish. The characters were so over the top and so unrealistic and child like it was stupid. Not really anything good to say about the movie and sadly I cant say anything about the actors themselves due to the character they were playing took the light off their abilities. Hallmark should start looking at much better scripts and ask themselves is this a movie that is worth watching or is it a movie people will be turning the channel after realizing it is ridicules and is an embarrassment for everyone involved.
Vera: Fast Love (2024)
Can't stand Joe
When I heard Joe was coming back I had mixed emotions only due to the fact that I liked his role in the first 5 seasons but I really liked Kenny Doughty (DS Aiden Healy) and was hoping when Joe came back he and Vera would be more a working team then a boss ordering her assistant around like in the first 5 season. I found that Vera and Aiden worked better as a team but Joe and Vera more like oil and vinegar. Well it was just like old times and I'm sorry to see this. Since this is the last season of the show I will continue watching until the end but sad that there wasn't better writing with Joe coming back to the team.
Happy's Place (2024)
It needs so much work
I will be giving 2 stars due to my love for Reba and Melissa. The actress who places Isabella (Belissa) is just not right in this part. She is far to young, 45 years young will have nothing in common between the two. The character Steve sits at the end of the bar and so annoying. He is an accountant and seems like he only has the bar as his own client ...so strange. The cook Emmett (Rex) should have more lines and story lines. The laugh track is the WORSE turn it off or fill with real people. I have watched all episodes and I just cant continue it is to difficult and so sad when you have Melissa, Reb and Rex on the show to have it stink this bad.
Murder for Sale (2023)
Couldn't watch
I wanted to watch a different Hallmark movie other than the typical love story line. Sadly I couldn't watch more than about 20 minutes. I enjoyed the detective Carson Spano but it was actually painful to watch Violet (Caitlin Clark) her acting was terrible. Also not sure if plastic surgery is the issues with her face and reactions during the movie but please perhaps another actor playing this role would be beneficial to the other Hallmark Murder Mysteries. The positive within the movie I did see was location and wardrobe. I hope to see other mysteries with this detective but another staring woman role.
Mary Tyler Moore: Mary Moves Out (1975)
An Ok episode
As usual it has its funny lines and moments. I just have to admit that I will miss her very bright and amazing large studio apartment. I loved the layout of the apartment and the wonderful colours. In her new apartment it is so blah, all brown and poor layout and looks as if it is a big square. I was hoping that when Mary declares she doesn't like the apartment she then moves back but sadly she remains in the apartment. Perhaps finding another way to bring her out of a rut would have been a better choice sadly we now have to look at a very square brown apartment lacking in colour and design...
Laverne & Shirley: Why Did the Fireman... (1980)
Great episode
Even after all these years it still brings tears to my eyes. I am glad how Laverne got a real love interest and not just a guy she just met.
I was really touched by the relationship that her and her "Pops"/Frank have when he was helping her through the difficult realization of the situation. The only issue I have had with on the episode then and still today was in the episodes that followed. The writers and creators did not have her morn like I feel they should have. The very next episode all went back to the way it had been before. It really never comes up in topic or issue until a few more seasons in California.
Christmas in Notting Hill (2023)
Is Georgia the big sister or the selfish sister?
I really like the cast of all but Georgia. This role is so annoying and the actress is even more annoying. No idea why the character Graham is interested in her. As a football player I would have thought he would want to be around professionals as well as a partner like himself. Georgia is either crying, angry, nagging or acting like she is 15 years old. All the other family members made me laugh and really enjoy their time on the screen. It was great the location of the movie was actually in London I enjoyed the architecture of the buildings and the homes. Would like to have given it a better score but due to the terrible acting for the Georgia character it only gets a 5.
My Grown-Up Christmas List (2022)
Same story and so many errors
From the military hair cuts to the uniforms is just so wrong. Flying a family member to a location on a mission is just laughable. It is a story line of military glory with the woman waiting back home with starry eyes and love. The wardrobe for main character is just so wrong. One that is the most bothersome is the wedding dress. It's not suited for her body type and just blame ugly and the wedding is set outside in the snow. I'm sure there could have been another dress that would be amazing for a winter thyme wedding but the poor bride wears a strapless gown with a small winter shall. I think Hallmark needs to do better with military movies and get better on wardrobe consultant.
Every Time a Bell Rings (2021)
Not the traditional Hallmark,
This is a Hallmark Christmas movie different from the others, and that is a good thing! Love story thrown in but more about sister love and family love. Nice to see the change on how love can be different in families and relationships. The location is also not the norm which again is a good thing. Hallmark has chosen well on the actors for each of the characters I feel that the actors all had great chemistry together which makes a movie really move a long nicely. I would recommend the movie for all these reasons. This movie still has the Hallmark touch but not so sweet it makes your teeth ache. LOL.
The Rookie: Feds (2022)
OMG!! No just terrible
OMG! Can she be an more annoying? It might be a good show if another actor was given the job. She is not funny even though she thinks she is. She has no talent and if the producers, writers wanted this show to work then another actor should have been chosen. The other actor or ok but would probably do much better without her in the show. She brings all the other cast members down. So if this show is to make it past this year then re casting will be needed and perhaps kill her off and either bring in a new actor or put on of the other cast members into her job title. Also make the episodes more believable. It looks like she thinks she is going to out on the town with the caked on makeup and can we tell her please put the girls back in the bra! Having her breast almost popping out all the time is tiresome.
The Mistletoe Secret (2019)
Stop casting Kelly Pickler
Kelly Pickler can not act and this movie is only a four star because of the other cast members that make this movie not receive a one start. The plot of the story at time confusing or just hard to follow. The town its self is quite nice and has many beautiful decorations but again if I am commenting on the decorations etc just shows the movie is lacking something. I believe this story line would work with a different lead female actor. The two main characters lacked chemistry and I say this is no fault of Tyler. Hynes, as usual he did an amazing job with what he was given or who he was given to work with.
Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022)
Love this
I really enjoy this movie, the humour, family connection of not being perfect as we all see within these Christmas movies. I really like all three male actors. That "LOVE" between a man and woman wasn't the focus of this movie. It was more about family and the brotherly love. I have already watched it twice and will watch it again next year I am sure. How we see all three brothers so different in their personalities but in the end all come together. The other cast members all played great and interesting parts to the movies which just added to a great movie. I could also see another movie with the same characters next year.
Christmas Bedtime Stories (2022)
Not really sure what happened??
I enjoyed the movie until the last 15 minutes. What the heck is to fill children and families with the thought that the United States Service got it all wrong? What a way to put the thought of anyone that has passed can somehow come home, or if you are having difficulties excepting someones has passed the more signs you see the more chances of him walking in all fine, healthy and alive it will be? Terrible choice of story line and upset that Hallmark has done this to give false hope. I usually will watch hallmark movies a few times but this one will not be the case. Sad because I like Steve Lund.
Acting Good (2022)
If I could I would give it less than 1 star
Terrible!!! Awful !!! I find it very hard to believe that the network think this is a good representative of our First Nations. There has GOT to be better than this. Lets find a plot and stories line to reflect correctly the life of First Nations.
The actors are either whining, swearing or screaming at each other. The plot of the few episodes have been childish and reflects poorly on First Nations. It takes all the stereo types that some people have had regarding how First Nations live and placed them on the screen. I agree with another review that the commercial sponsors will be pulling out soon ...that is if they value their product.
Christmas Harmony (2018)
There is comedy, music and then of course love
I really enjoyed the comedy of Sally Struthers character, she made me laugh out loud on a few of her lines. An enjoyable hallmark movie it still had the same ending but they all do and we all know they will. The selection of actors was very nice balanced, the location and how they incorporated the scenery is a nice added touch.
Would watch again for sure
A Timeless Christmas (2020)
The Story Line was a nice change but so many holes
I was looking forward to the different story line so I will give Hallmark that much but there are so many holes within the plot. I also found Ryan Paevey's performance was lacking a connection with Erin Cahill's character. She was like a doe in love with a buck with the wide eye look through out the movie. There was another Hallmark movie very close to this The Spirit Of Christmas 2015. I was hoping for not a remake of the same story line.
A Christmas Love Story (2019)
Enjoyed it very much!!
The movie is well written better than the usual Hallmark movies. Choice of actors is amazing the two main characters have chemistry and supporting actor were bang on as well.
Nice to see Hallmark not following their usual check box of activities. There were no snow ball fights, no falling from a ladder and the other usual Hallmark antics.... well they do drink an abundance amount of hot chocolate but I will take it over the other activities Hallmark uses.
Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater (2020)
Enjoyed and would watch again for sure
I really enjoyed this movie and would watch again the main characters had chemistry and looked like they were having fun with each other. Supporting actors did really well too and makes the movie better. I did feel they rushed in the end a little. As usual there was poor communication in the end but it felt like it was done as an after thought in the story line.
p.s loved his Christmas sweater
The Christmas Bow (2020)
Very slow
I found this movie to move at a glacier's pace. Hallmark could have done much better with supporting actors as well. Make them more interesting and put some fun into the movie. The young nephew had most of the comedy lines a shame the others could be written some as well.
Wouldn't watch this again
Christmas by Starlight (2020)
Enjoyable with love and laughs
I thought both characters did well through out the movie, the chemistry between them felt straightened at times. Not sure if was the actors themselves or if the story line was going that way.
Most supporting characters did well and always nice to see Hallmark writing in characters that are not in a heterosexual relationship.
The decorations were amazing and throughly enjoyed them
Five Star Christmas (2020)
More comedy then the usual Hallmark Christmas movie
I enjoyed the comedy in the movie. The two main characters are two of my favourite of the Hallmark movies and glad to see them in this movie together. At times I did feel the movie was a little "silly" but a nice change.
The house and scenery were absolutely beautiful, these aspects helped the movie be more interesting.
I really enjoyed the grandfather and grandmother roles they did a very good job.
Just My Type (2020)
Enjoyed it very much
I really enjoyed this movie, yes the same out come as usual but the main characters are really were well matched. The outdoor scenery was very nice and quite beautiful.
A Winter Princess (2019)
Enjoyed
An enjoyable movie, the main casting was well fitted to each other. The views and back drop through out the movie was really nice. I really liked the fact that the snow was actual snow and not the fake foam snow that is so easy to detect.
Pumpkin Pie Wars (2016)
Enjoyed it
I found the two lead characters believable. The lead female role's baking / kitchen scenes were comical. The male role lead was a good fit and found the two had good chemistry. Both mothers role were a bit tiresome nearing the end and I thought was an over kill through the whole movie. We got the point they were enemies but the jabs and angry comments grew old.
