Two great actors on board with GREAT chemistry. It could have been such a perfect enemies to lovers movie. Yet it was utterly consumed by the vulgarity of the sexual jokes, references, dialogues, even songs, with "you spin me right round" playing as the credits song of the film. This condition in itself deprives the movie from the romantic side of it. Even though they are a great couple and you totally ship them, in the end you're just relieved the vulgarity came to an end. The movie sells itself as a romcom and when you start watching it you also sign up for a romcom so no, we're not supposed neither to expect nor respect this extent of indecency.
The basis of the plot and the well known trope seemed like a safe option for a romcom but sadly, the movie was unexpectedly bad. There was no problem with the actors, they did just fine and there was some chemistry. But they couldn't save the movie. It felt as if it wasn't progressing at all. Nothing was flowing and the whole thing just didn't feel natural. At some point I was so bored just trying to get through it that I started laughing about my bad choice for a movie to watch this afternoon. I'm really sorry cause I know they really tried but it just didn't work as an enjoyable and fun romcom.
This was a very interesting love story that had you hooked up from the very beginning. The chemistry is really overflowing between the two leads.
Pros: Very good acting, great chemistry, interesting plot. It delves into the state of missing that one person in your life that could challenge you into finally becoming yourself
Cons: 1) I didn't understand why the leads decided to complicate things for absolutely no reason. 2) The intimate scenes were too intimate and unnecessary.
All in all it's worth to watch and to me the ending is quite clearly a happy ending, despite what some other commenters pointed out.
