This feels more like a modern Central American horror film than a North American possession film. Think "Terrified" in terms of storytelling, cinematography and monster design. Some of the lighting feels amateurish, particularly in outdoor scenes, but otherwise a decent watch. It has more of the scares typical of something like Hellhouse LLC. And while it doesn't succeed as well as that series does in terms of the horror lurking behind or near a character moving closer and closer. It still hits and it the severity of its' hits outweigh its' misses.
One major complaint that bothered me in the movie was (without spoilers) the detective. Whoever hired that guy needs to get both their own and his head examined.

A soft two. Main character is annoying. I get that that's supposed to be intentional, but they overdid it. Cosmetics look like they came out of a Spirit Halloween bargain bin. Just watch Gonjiam for a better version of this. The cast is better. The effects are better. The story is better. I get that this movie likely had a lower budget, but I don't think the lead had the genuine ability to solo carry this film. That's a really difficult thing to do. The movie also seems to replace legitimate scares for loud noises and screaming. The gore is ok at times. At the end of the day though, a tighter script with another cast member to offset the obnoxious nature of the main character would probably garner thus movie closer to the range of a 6.
