And Just Like That... (2021)
I love it!!
I loved 'Sex and the City' and certainly looooove this one ... they've matured, gained depth, still relevant to cultural changes, still beautiful ... also the humour is grrreat ... 9/10 for me!!
How It Ends (2021)
Cool Quirky and Tripping
Really cool quirky film. The acting was great and the storyline was really trippy. My husband and I had great fun watching this little gem of a film. We Loved it!!
Be Our Guests (2019)
Awful!!!!!!!
Awful in every single possible and impossible way ... I've seen better acting in the parliament!!!!!
Stay away, stay safe, it's safer to drive drunk than watch this film!!!!
Oh did I say film?? I'm sorry, I meant filth!!!!!!!
Coming Out Colton (2021)
Very Educational and Useful!!
After resisting for nearly a year watching the "coming out" story of former NFL star Colton Underwood (or else known from TV's reality series "The Bachelor") on Netflix, I finally succumbed to the positive emotional Facebook post of a US "friend" and decided to give it a go ... and ended up binge watching the whole series!!
WOW I found it really educational and useful, not only for the mental and emotional guidance and support it offers to other closeted gays struggling to "come out" but also for it puts "straight" America and the homophobic institutions that compile it under the spotlight ...
Throughout the series' episodes we see Colton answering difficult uncomfortable questions while gradually "coming out" to the LGBTQ community as well as to a series of straight homophobic institutions - his family, his school, his football coach, his church, the media - which dictated his life and led to the suppression of his gay identity with an overload of shame and guilt!!
I highly recommend this!!
Supernova (2020)
Outstanding 10/10
Having gone through my cancer with the love and support of my partner, last year, this film really hit home. And it's certainly the best acting I've ever seen from Colin Firth, very esoteric and subtle but yet very poignant, while Stanley Tucci is as always exceptional. Simply an outstanding film!!
Heal (2017)
You have to be a chronic illness survivor to truly appreciate this film!!
Being a cancer survivor myself I truly appreciated this film that gave me hope throughout my chemotherapy treatment. As my type of cancer was particularly aggressive with the highest mortality rate during the 1st chemotherapy cycle I followed mental and emotional processes discussed in this documentary to actively participate in the killing of my disease. 8 months down the line I was in complete remission.
Healing is a process that equally requires a scientific and a spiritual process - drugs and hope - and simply this is what this documentary is trying to teach us!!
Loved it!!!
Fin de siglo (2019)
Pretentious
Not sure who is more pretentious ... the director of the film or his clique of critics who reviewed this and gave it a 97% score on rotten tomatoes??
Private Romeo (2011)
Beautiful love story with infectious homoerotic chemistry
Last night I discovered this little gem of a film ... a homoerotic take on the classic play "Romeo and Juliet" with some great acting and some handsome infectious chemistry between "Romeo" and "Juliet" ... I strongly recommend this!!
The Farm (2018)
It's not a horror but an eye opening pro vegan film
And now that you can clearly see what you've been doing to poor animals for the sake of your bacon and beef burgers maybe it's time you change your eating habits??
8/10 for the vegan message
Where We Go from Here (2019)
OMG some of the reviews here ...
Can someone explain to some of the reviewers here that homophobia is awful and that those 3 cases correspond to real terrorist attacks that happened in the last 3 years around the globe (do you live in a box mate???)
Cats (2019)
Beautiful Film
I feel extremely angry with all the unfair bad reviews out there which now, after having watched the film, don't make any sense really ... and I can understand the critics as they are paid not to give an honest opinion but to push forward their own agendas and play the politics of the film industry, by supporting one film while trashing another one ... but the general public I honestly don't understand its naivety and how easily it is manipulated by the sold out media!
For what it counts, my partner and I looooooved it!!
Ad Astra (2019)
The furthest planet to find life, meaning and hope is within "us"
The fact that there are so many people who found this film terrible and intellectually confusing makes me lose hope in the human race ...
The furthest planet to find life, meaning and hope is within "us" ... as simple and as complicated as that!
He's Out There (2018)
Solidly good horror
Another film battered by viewers who obviously are here to have a laugh and wreck the ratings of solidly good films.
I'm an avid horror fan myself and this when it comes to horror films I'm really hard to please. Although this was not he best horror film ever I would confidently recommend it to all fans of the genre - although it was not the most original film ever, it was well acted and directed ... and at moments it creeped the hell out of me (and I'm NOT easily scared)!!!
Ein Weg (2017)
A journey through all phases of long term universal "love"
A charming "arty farty" film about universal love and its "life" stages in time ... absolutely beautiful!!
