I'm puzzled by the low ratings this film has received. In my opinion, it surpasses the original in terms of consistency and subtlety, despite the original's charm largely due to Sandra Bullock's commendable performance.

The narrative in this sequel offers a refreshing viewpoint (without giving away any spoilers) and is executed with near perfection. The lead actors deliver commendable performances. The film addresses some questions about the creatures while maintaining the air of mystery. The plot is mostly solid, with only a minor hiccup towards the end. The character motivations are largely believable, with the exception of one antagonist whose portrayal seems slightly exaggerated. This character's connection to a certain institution might explain the disgruntled 1-star reviews.

In all honesty, I would give this movie a solid 7. However, considering the current average rating, I've decided to rate it slightly higher to balance the scales.

It seems that bad. I tried watching the trailer, but midway, I aggressively lost interest, to the point where I had to stop it, come here, and tell you how bad this movie must be. I think by now I have spent more time writing this than I could spend on this movie.
