The Wind & the Reckoning
"The Wind and The Reckoning" is a true story set in 1893 Hawai'i during the tumultuous year of the overthrow of Queen Lili'uokalani by American businessmen. A Native Hawaiian father and son (Ko'olau and Kaleimanu) contract leprosy but refuse to be separated from their wife and mother (Pi'ilani) and be banished to Molokai "the island of the living grave". For three and a half years this brave ohana is pursued by mercenaries and bounty hunters with lethal intentions. Ko'olau and family outlast them all and are able to live their last years together in peace and ultimately give voice to a voiceless people.
