New Music Friday Songs Albums Singles May 2nd 2025

Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases...

Let's start with this week's batch of brand singles, which is especially fresh and tempting.

Hot off his Top 3 success with Azizam, Ed Sheeran is releasing the second single from his upcoming "big pop" album, PLAY. It's called Old Phone and features beautifully wistful lyrics that many of us will relate to. Could it become his 43rd – yes, 43rd – Top 10 hit?

Meanwhile, Maroon 5 are releasing their much-teased duet with LISA, Priceless, which arrives hot on the heels of the BLACKPINK star's debut solo album Alter Ego. Could it become the LA band's first Top 40 single since 2019's Memories?

Talking of team-ups, pop queens Meghan Trainor and Mimi Webb have joined forces for Mind Reader. They'll be aiming for their 10th and seventh Top 40 singles respectively.

Elsewhere, Måneskin frontman Damiano David releases Voices, the latest single from his upcoming solo album Funny Little Fears, and Alison Goldfrapp drops Find Xanadu, the lead single from her second solo album Flux, due in June.

Pink Floyd at Pompeii

Now, onto albums.

Pink Floyd fans are being truly fed with the release of Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII.

Accompanying the iconic concert film of the same name – now back in cinemas –  this bumper live album marks the first time the historic concert has been available on vinyl. Could it become a seventh Number 1 album for the prog legends?

Elsewhere, Yung Lean is dropping his sixth studio album, Jonatan, and Erasure frontman Andy Bell returns with his third solo album, Ten Crowns.
