Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 12 Review- Teacher
There was no other way this could have ended, and the way it happened was pretty much perfect. It was impossible to write a better ending for a show as delightfully weird as this, for anything less than perfection wouldn’t be enough. What makes for perfect in a show that has always been the one to betray anime norms and go on a path of its own? How do you end a show that’s unlike any other that has ever aired? By featuring the final confrontation between the two main characters, of course! Not just that, but also by making it the best thing that has ever happened in the show.

Reigen was Mob’s final opponent before his other personality took over completely, and it was absolutely amazing to see what the show did with their confrontation. No, Reigen wasn’t hiding any special psychic powers that he wanted to save for the last moment. I don’t even want to entertain that notion, despite my denial of it being somewhat of a spoiler. The confrontation was phenomenal because he had no powers, not despite it. Reigen and Mob shared the most genuine relationship in the show, one of respect.
Despite him technically using Mob and his abilities for his business and lying to him, Reigen always did care for Mob and helped him out wherever he could. He saw the world a lot differently than Mob did, for he knew the pain adulthood causes and always tried to give Mob advice that would spare him the pain Reigen suffered. He was always there for Mob, even if the situation was well beyond his control. He threatened a psychic Mob boss with a gun, for God’s sake. You don’t do that if you are a bad person who only wants to use the other person for profit.

However, this conflict was between the two Mobs. This was about him learning to recognise both parts as himself and stop alienating his powers and emotions because of fear. Mob was right to be scared of his powers, for he is extremely strong, but his powers are what make him Mob. The conflict was extremely well written and realised, with Studio Bones operating at their very best, trying to bring Mob’s anguish and self-hatred back to life. Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 12 also brought back an old musical classic, which was a delight to experience in the context it was used.
It is hard to say goodbye to a show as unique as this, but I’m glad that Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 12 means it gets to go out on a high. This outing was extremely emotional and powerful, enough to make a grown man cry, as some would put it. Without spoiling the note the series ended on, it would be insane to be anything less than satisfied with how things were left. Of course, not everything was answered, but it didn’t need to be. We got enough, but it feels weird saying one can ever have enough of Mob Psycho 100. We will miss you, Mob.
Verdict
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 12 was the perfect ending to a phenomenal show. Now that it is all said and done, it wouldn’t be inaccurate to claim that this was a one-of-a-kind experience that could never be replicated.
I agree with your verdict on this show. I was definitely crying tears the last two episodes and to see Reigen, Mob’s master confront him as he could with his true self was cathartic. Even though Mob knew it was false, when Reigen admitted it, it opened the door for Mob to accept his true self and became the path to accept himself. It was a hard fought battle and to see the final crisis be Mob against himself was the perfect way to setup the end to this series. Already knew he would get turned down as what Mob did during his youth was to admire from afar, that doesn’t bring you real love. Him accepting that his attempt can fail and move on forward is another type of strength the story was always building up for him. 10/10 overall.
