We're excited to announce a huge upgrade to our magazine review database, thanks to our collaboration with Amiga Magazine Rack (And yes, they have plenty of C64 magazine reviews too!)
We've seamlessly merged their extensive C64 magazine review data with ours, making corrections and updates as well as adding data for 1,400 new reviews.
These come from publications such as ACAR, Commodore Computing International, 🇸🇪 Datormagazin, Games-X, Personal Computer Games, 🇫🇷 Joystick, New Computer Express, 🇩🇪 Power Play, just to name a few!
As a result, Lemon64 now boasts an impressive database of over 9,600 C64 magazine reviews and their ratings — likely the largest data collection of its kind! Whenever scanned pages are available on AMR, we link directly to them. If not, we provide alternative links through archive.org, zzap64.co.uk, and others. Additionally, non-English magazine reviews now feature a country flag for quick and easy identification.
You can now also use our Advanced Search to list all games reviewed in a specific magazine. There are 25 different magazines to choose from.
Enjoy our newly expanded and even more valuable data collection of C64 magazine reviews! 🚀

TND's annual C64 SEUCK Development game competition has made a return. Previous competitions have been quite successful and this year's competition hopes to be a lot better. The aim of this competition is to create and develop a full game using the Shoot Em Up Construction Kit or the Sideways Scrolling adaptation of it. You are welcome to add some cool enhancements to your game creations although that is not necessary.
Submissions for the competition are remote entries only. The submission deadline for competition entries is 30th April 2025. They can be submitted via email, or via private message (with a link posted to the unreleased game) to Richard of TND.
The voting phase will start in May 2025 and the winner's game will be announced after it has been fully enhanced as the star prize. Entrants will also have music added to their SEUCK entries during submission. The compo winner gets full the full SEUCK enhancement treatment as a prize. The winner of the last compo was "Droid Rumble" by Alf Yngve.
For full details and rules on submitting your entries to competition, please visit The C64 SEUCK Game Development Compo 2025. You may also use this forum topic on Lemon64 to discuss about the competition.
The Lemoners are very proud to announce the second installment of our coding tutorial Fun and Games Programming In Assembly. This time we leave the race track, and head off to the grand canyon in two heavily armored tanks, for a new game for one or two players called "Canyon Tank Duel". That's right everybody. This latest game coding feature goes through yet another full game project, which teaches you how to make a duel game with conjoined sprites, adds power ups, and other fun stuff. You even get to learn to make a new front end complete with in game options. May the best tank win!
Our team has made several improvements across the site to enhance search functionality, clean-up outdated links, and update game information.

Just realised this what Oh No! By Sensible Software took it's cues from this. Z is a great game but Oh No! Is my preference.
