It’s no secret I love hydrangea & I love these limelight hydrangeas around our 1800’s farmhouse A LOT! How I like my plants & landscaping: a little overgrown, a little unruly, & a little untamed.. kind of like my hair! What can I say? It’s the cozy cottage way. I get asked so much about these hydrangea plants & so I wanted to share some reasons why I love & recommend limelight hydrangeas:

-They grow 6-8 feet tall

-They have a unique cone shaped flower

-The blooms are enormous up to 10 inches long

-The limelight blooms beautifully late summer through late fall

-In the fall the flowers turn a beautiful autumn bronze color perfect for fall Tablescapes & decor

-limelights are very low maintenance & when left wild with very little trimming needs, enough water, & proper sun, they flourish!

-They are great for long lasting cut flowers & great for drying too!

-They are a very cold tolerant hardy plant

-Great for privacy & fencing as they grow so tall & wide

-Limelights are the perfect cozy cottage garden flower style

-Again, THEY ARE EASY & LOW MAINTENANCE

Maybe I am the odd one out here, but I always have prints laying around that I’ve purchased or have had printed & they sit in drawers or pile up on my desk waiting to get framed. Well, one of my super easy thrift store life hacks is finding frames with matting & painting the matte board & cleaning up the frames. It’s truly the easiest way to frame your prints & you can find frames for $1 like this one. Sometimes you can even keep the art that comes in the thrifted frame & just update it by painting the matting or the frame & giving it a good clean. Super simple & can elevate your space instantly! I say it every year: spooky can be cozy!!! I loved this candle holder from @shopterrain [along with all their other amazing fall decor!] but they sold out before I could snag one so I attempted my own & this is what I came up with. I always like to use what I already have first & so for the base I used a terracotta saucer & then I found this clay caldron at the craft store so that’s what I used for the structure. With some hot glue I attached them & decorated the base with some sticks from the yard & some moss from the craft store that I always keep on hand for projects. Such a simple diy & the possibilities are endless! You could make it so many different ways and different styles for any season. Shoutout to two small shops who made this diy space cozy: @antiquecandleco_ with my favorite cozy candles & the cozy cottage pumpkins I bought from @cottonandcrete 🫶🏼🍂🕯️ Fall always inspires me to be crafty and although it’s early for most, I hope this inspires you for when you are ready! 4 years ago today we sat before a judge & many of our friends & family in a courtroom holding a happy chunky baby as she so warmly declared us an official family of 3. The magnitude of adoption is not lost on me & I still can not wrap my head around it all, but I do know one thing, the judge didn’t need to tell me I was his momma… my heart already knew 🤍 I can only speak to one part of the adoption triangle & I try to not share or overstep on the other stories intertwined in our adoption story, but I also don’t want to be silent on the subject like I have been the past few years as I want to share the beauty of adoption & that it is an option. So many families are waiting to give their love & lives to raising children & we hope that God grows our family again through adoption as well. We are one of those families & we are thankful that adoption made us just that… a family. 🤍🤍🤍 Ps. We call this day cope’s adoption birthday [he proudly tells everyone & wears it like a badge which is so fun to see] & sometimes we call it our family anniversary since it’s the day we officially became a family of 3.
