Meet Muhieddine Obeidat — data analyst, full-time learner, and future data scientist! Based in Chicago, Moe works at a Fortune 500 company where SQL, reporting, and visualization are part of his daily toolkit. But he wanted to go beyond analysis — to master the advanced skills driving the next era of data and AI. That’s what led him to the University of Pittsburgh’s online Master of Data Science (MDS) on Coursera. 🧠 With an economics background, Moe appreciated how Pitt’s curriculum bridges theory and real-world application. “The projects are industry-related, which makes it feel immediately relevant.” His very first course — completed through performance-based admissions — was one of the toughest he’s taken, but it set the foundation for his success. 📊 The results showed up quickly: The Art of Data Visualization gave him new techniques he uses daily at work, while LLMs and Their Applications is fueling his growth in machine learning. “It’s exciting because it connects directly to the kind of work I want to do in my career.” Balancing a full-time job with full-time study isn’t easy — but Moe credits Coursera’s flexibility, structure, and supportive professors for making it possible. “The future is data, AI, and machine learning. It’s not going anywhere. If you jump now and get this experience, it will be very helpful. Plus, a degree from Pitt looks great on your CV.” 🎓 Curious what studying at Pitt is like? Take the Data-Centric Computing course free on Coursera — no cost, no commitment. If you later enroll in Pitt’s Master of Data Science, your progress will count toward your degree. 📅 Join our free webinar Nov 13 to learn more. https://bit.ly/47xs0Ux
