Meet Sonny Li, Founder & Chief Vibes Officer at Codédex, and a Transcend Fellow (TF11)! Sonny began his career as an educator, teaching programming at Columbia University, New York University, and Lehman College in NYC. He later went on to work as a curriculum developer and manager at Codecademy for five years and was a founding fellow with On Deck (ODF) before starting his journey as a founder. Currently, Sonny is building Codédex: the most fun way for Gen Z to learn tech skills! The platform offers courses in Python, HTML/CSS, JS, React, SQL, AI, Git & GitHub, and Command Line, and encourages learners to practice with projects alongside a vibrant coding community. The platform has been trusted by learners from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Deloitte, Uber Eats, Spotify, CSforALL, and SpaceX! Codédex not only teaches programming skills but also makes the learning process enjoyable. Codédex will hack its way into your heart.... Because it might just be the cutest site for learning to code. What is different about this site is that it’s more community based, and has high prioritization on making your learning fun and engaging. Their interface feels like a video game like Stardew, and you’ll be joining a community of 200k+ with in person meetups and hackathons! Codédex cares about its community. 🚀 Excited to share my latest project, Project STAY🚀 For the last month, I was working on a website that provides information about the members of Stray Kids and their discography to new fans. The main page includes member information and media thumbnails that allow you to watch performances (vocal/rap/dance). The albums page shows all the albums, singles, EPs that they've released. Users can filter the display based on the year it was released. Clicking on an album shows the entire set list and selecting on an individual song allows you to view the lyrics. The News section has quick news previews of different events/features/awards that Stray Kids have participated in or received. I've learned a lot while working on this project and I am so proud of the final outcome. I'd love to give a shout out to Codédex and the online community for the unconditional love and support they give me every day. Also, big shout out to Sarah Burger for providing me with so much feedback on the layout displays (the last image shows what my initial layout looked like on Day 1 before the suggestions).
