"It's important for people to know what all of their options are. There are no two identical pregnancy journeys. And not all care is created equal." Asima Ahmad, MD, MPH, FACOG, our Chief Medical Officer, joined Elaine Welteroth from birthFUND and Maneet Ahuja from Forbes for an important discussion about maternal health access at last week's Power Women's Summit. Asima shared how we support Carrot members on their pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting journeys. Most recently, that includes CarrotMatch, the first pregnancy navigation system to match members with the highest-quality providers in their area. We've also expanded our support through virtual care teams, including doulas, midwives, grief counselors, nutritionists, and more to help fill gaps in maternal care. Elaine has also used her platform to advocate for better maternal healthcare access. She launched birthFUND earlier this year and has already raised over $1.3M for women and families seeking midwifery care. "From day one, we wanted to reset the mindset that fertility benefits, not infertility benefits, were going to be more inclusive for all paths to parenthood. Not only that, but fertility benefits would be more than just IVF and IUI coverage; instead, they would include a view of someone's lifelong hormonal health journey, from fertility to pregnancy, to postpartum and well into their later years, including menopause and low testosterone for men." In this insightful video, Asima Ahmad, MD, MPH, FACOG, Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Carrot Fertility, breaks down key distinctions in fertility benefits to help HR leaders make informed decisions for their organization. #fertilitycareforall #HR #employeebenefits

Fertility and family-building journeys can feel isolating and impact people's mental health. For the one in six people of reproductive age who experience infertility worldwide, there is clear evidence that the mental health toll can be just as significant as the physical. The National Institutes of Health recently found that an estimated 25-60% of individuals experiencing infertility report psychiatric symptoms and that their levels of anxiety and depression are significantly higher than the general population. Many of these individuals are turning to their employers for support with better emotional or mental health resources being one of the most sought after solutions. Hear from Rosie Acosta, Meditation and Mindfulness teacher, Headspace, for a live, guided meditation, followed by a discussion moderated by Courtney Vinopal, Senior Reporter at Morning Brew, between Asima Ahmad, MD, MPH, FACOG, our Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder; Mary Lasky, MBA, Director of Benefits, Accolade, Inc.; and Jenna Glover, Chief Clinical Officer at Headspace. They cover: *Why fertility, family building and mental health support are critical in a modern benefits stack to support a diverse workforce *The mental health toll that family planning and fertility challenges can have on employees *How employers can better support workers throughout a fertility journey #fertility #mentalhealth #familybuilding #employeebenefits
