Founder and Owner of Words Across Borders. Director, Language Industry Learning at Boostlingo

I'm already in Portland, Oregon, gearing up for this year's American Translators Association annual conference this week. As a presenter, I'm always honored and excited when I get to teach during the Advanced Skills Training day. This year I'm teaming up with Giovanna Carriero-Contreras to do a deeper dive into using AI Tools for interpreting assignment preparation, practice, and while interpreting. For all the risks and very real dangers AI presents to our profession, the tools now available that we can leverage to become better interpreters are mind-boggling and frankly robust. I'm happy to get to focus on this more empowering side of the AI coin. If you are attending and make it all the way to the final session on Saturday, Holly A. Silvestri and I will be presenting on the practical decision-making tools that are now becoming available based on the hard work the SAFE AI in Interpreting Task Force, together with Co_SET, the Coalition for Sign Language Equity in Technology, has achieved in record time. And then early Saturday morning, I get to present on something near to my heart, exploring how we can help speakers presenting to multilingual audiences craft their communication for the entire audience so that it is truly accessible and understandable. It's a topic we don't explore enough, yet there are so many simple things speakers can do to adjust how they present to be truly inclusive of those who are there to learn in their non-native language. ATA is always a special place to convene, network, see dear friends and stay on top of our ever-evolving profession. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's presentations, getting to introduce my awesome Boostlingo colleague Morgan Teller to the ATA community, and celebrating how far we've come. #ata65 #interpreting #1nt #aitools #publicspeaking #languageaccess Boostlingo Molly Nunez Nate Klause Caitilin Walsh, CT Bill Rivers Elena Langdon Eliane Sfeir-Markus CHI #interpreters Natalya Mytareva

"A physician is not going to wait 30 or 40 minutes for an interpreter to show up. Handing an iPad with an interpreter on hand - that's an incremental quality-of-life improvement as far as I'm concerned. And everybody should have access to that," shared Dieter J Runge on The Native Experience Podcast by LEXIGO. Discover how language tech, AI, and holoportation are shaping the future.
