Love is in the house! As the go-to destination for fashion, fun, and togetherness, we tapped Jennifer Hudson to help ring in the holiday spirit with a campaign that invites playful style, dressed-up dogs, and chosen family to the Old Navy house, where everyone is welcome. “It was a dream come true to work with Jennifer Hudson and see her sparkle in our new Shine denim," said Zac Posen, Executive Vice President, Creative Director of Gap Inc. and Chief Creative Officer of Old Navy. “When we learned that Jennifer Hudson was launching her first-ever holiday album, we thought, now is the time to collaborate with an EGOT winner to spread joy in our “Love is in the House” holiday campaign.”

Ringing the closing bell at the NYSE this week was the first (but not the last!) moment to celebrate and recognize our 30th birthday this year.    Old Navy was founded 30 years ago in 1994, and since then we’ve been on a mission to make fashion accessible and shopping fun...for everyone! Since then, we made household names out of iconic product categories like jingle jammies, $1 flip flops and flag tees. We have dressed some of pop culture’s biggest stars for memorable campaigns. And we have continuously given back to the communities we serve. And this week, teams, community partners, store leaders and valued suppliers came from all around the country (and in some cases, all around the globe!) to celebrate our rich history, our unique culture, and the success of Old Navy as an iconic American brand.      What’s next? Stay tuned! And believe us when we say - thirty years fly by when you’re this fabulous!

Old Navy is in the middle of Back to School, but we’ve always got our eye on the future, in more ways than one! Store teams are busy hosting ON the Job events, which are job shadowing opportunities for youth interested in our This Way ONward program. These events help “school” the youth in what it’s like to work in a store – everything from working at the cash wrap, to working in the fitting room, to putting together outfits. They even practice valuable skills with mock interviews so they can get an A+ when it’s time for them to apply for a job. Old Navy has been proud to host ON the Job events for the past 25 years – and during that time, 150,000 youths have gotten a glimpse into what it’s like to work in retail. Check out a few pictures from the ON the Job events in our Orlando, FL market, where the local General Managers helped the groups learn about all things Old Navy.

Old Navy has a long history of supporting young people in the communities we serve. Championing those efforts is Steve Peters, Head of Stores and Store Operations, who serves as the Executive Sponsor of This Way ONward - Old Navy's program that helps bridge the opportunity gap.   Steve recently joined a panel discussion at Jobs for the Future (JFF)’s Impact Employer Summit in Washington, DC, about creating economic opportunity in today’s labor market.   “It was incredible to be in front of a cross-section of leaders from so many different companies who all wanted to hear how Old Navy – and Gap Inc. – are making opportunity hiring programs come to life for frontline workers. I talked about how programs like This Way ONward have shared value, with participants getting job training, mentorship and work experience, and our company filling talent needs while improving employee engagement and retention. These programs help advance economic opportunities in our communities, which is also important to our customers as the want to do business with companies that play a positive role in society.” -Steve Peters
