My 12-year-old and I spent last weekend building on this year’s Universe hackable badge. Calling these badges undersells them a little. Over the years, they’ve evolved from e-ink display to tiny computers. This year we've built in an accelerometer that flips the screen when you look down at it, and capacitive gaming controls that feel natural in your hand. And we've updated the badges AGENTS.md, so Copilot knows how to code and deploy to the badge, making it easier to build your own apps and games. Every year we ask ourselves how can we make Universe better for the developer. You can throw a bigger stage at it, but it doesn’t replace those deeply developer-first, sometimes quirky experiences that our community craves. More hands-on development. Product announcements you can hear in a keynote and get your hands on minutes later. Thats the whole point of Universe: turning the spirit of a global community that spans nearly every corner of the internet into a physical experience. Or better yet, a home. ♥️ There’s much more in store at Fort Mason this year. I hope you’ll join us.
