🍓 Starting today, you can get early access to test out OpenAI o1 models in GitHub Copilot with VS Code and in our GitHub Models playground. These models feature advanced reasoning capabilities and are designed to enhance complex problem-solving in code development. We’ve seen very promising results in our internal testing of o1-preview: - Improved understanding of code constraints and edge cases - More efficient and higher quality outputs - Deliberate responses that facilitate easier problem identification and solution implementation You can learn more and sign up for the preview here 👇 https://lnkd.in/eMk2UfWf

At GitHub, building for developer happiness means helping developers do their best work while staying in flow. That’s why I am excited to share that Copilot Extensions are now available in public beta. Whether you're an individual developer looking to use your favorite tools, or you’re a large enterprise wanting to augment GitHub Copilot with your own internal knowledge base, you now have the tools to customize and enhance your GitHub Copilot experience. Here’s an example from one of our launch partners, Atlassian. “At Atlassian, we view Copilot Extensions as a major boost in reducing context switching for developers as they write code,” said Josh Devenny, Atlassian Head of Product, Agile, and DevOps AI. “With our new Rovo-powered Atlassian extension for GitHub Copilot, developers can look up all of their requirements, testing plans, issues, and docs from Jira or Confluence directly in Copilot Chat at GitHub.com or their IDE—saving time and frustration.” Copilot Extensions will redefine how developers work with AI. I would love to hear from you if you have an idea for a Copilot Extension that will help developers build software better and faster. https://lnkd.in/enBi6CE2
