    I’m looking forward to joining Randy Fife, Sean Kelly AIF®, CPFA®, and Tim Hoying at SPARK next week for a panel on the transformative effect of technology on the retirement industry. The retirement industry is key to fulfilling our mission at Finch — to create an Open Employment Ecosystem where the tools that employers use to manage their workforce can securely and easily share data with systems of record. But retirement TPAs and recordkeepers still rely heavily on outdated technology like batch file transfers because until now, they’ve had no alternative. Finch makes it easy for TPAs and recordkeepers to securely access data directly from their sponsors’ payroll systems so they can focus less on collecting information and more on providing services to their clients. Working with veteran 401(k) providers like Fidelity Investments, Nova 401(k) Associates, and Ameritas and startups like Human Interest, Saveday, and 401GO has helped Finch build a product that meets the needs of recordkeepers and TPAs. I’m excited to discuss where we are today and what innovation lies ahead!

    For decades, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) has been the go-to method for exchanging data between HRIS and payroll systems. While familiar, SFTP presents significant drawbacks in today's fast-paced, data-driven world. The SFTP Struggle: ➾ 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Each system of record has its unique way of labeling and storing data. This lack of standardization forces developers to build and maintain custom integrations for each individual system, leading to a complex and time-consuming process. ➾ 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: SFTP is designed for bulk file uploads, not real-time data exchange.
