One of the biggest barriers to financial efficiency in Africa is the fragmented payment systems. They increase reconciliation time, add unnecessary operational overhead, and often result in missed growth opportunities especially for companies operating across multiple markets. That’s why I’m particularly proud of our new initiative: The Payments Nook, Flutterwave’s resource hub for businesses navigating Africa’s complex payment environment. Our first whitepaper, Unlocking Africa’s Digital Potential Through Unified Payments, speaks directly to this. It outlines how simplifying and unifying payments can lead to better financial planning, cross-border clarity, and ultimately, sustainable growth. This is a must read. • If you want to truly understand Africa’s booming digital economy, you need to start with the payments powering it. Payments shouldn’t be a barrier to trade, they should be the bridge. That’s why we are proud to introduce The Payment Nook: your go-to hub for expert insights, whitepapers, and practical strategies designed to help you navigate and thrive in Africa’s unique business landscape. To kick things off, our first whitepaper, “Unlocking Africa’s Digital Potential Through Unified Payments,” is now live! It explores how fragmented payment systems are holding businesses back and how a unified approach can help companies grow and succeed across Africa. 🌍 Connecting Africa’s Payment Future! We’re proud to launch Flutterwave’s new white paper — “Connecting Africa: Bridging Local and Global Economies.” 👉 Read here: https://lnkd.in/ezRfQQhe Africa’s payment landscape has long been defined by fragmentation : 54 countries, 40+ currencies, and a patchwork of systems that make cross-border trade harder than it should be. Yet today, a new era is unfolding. Pan-African Payment & Settlement System - PAPSS — led by its CEO, Mike Ogbalu III FCIB — is showing what’s possible when vision meets execution. By harmonizing regulatory frameworks and enabling instant, local-currency settlements across borders, PAPSS is creating the foundation for Africa’s true economic integration. Their work, backed by African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), is one of the most important catalysts of intra-African trade under the AfCFTA framework. At Flutterwave, we’re building on that progress. Our mission has always been to connect Africa to the global economy, powering businesses, creators, and consumers with interoperable payment rails that are fast, reliable, and inclusive. This white paper dives deep into: • The data and insights behind Africa’s $16.5T digital potential. • PAPSS’s leadership in harmonizing regulation and enabling instant settlements. • How Flutterwave’s platform and Send App are bridging local and global economies. • Why a unified payment network is the key to Africa’s next phase of growth. This is more than a report — it’s a roadmap for a connected, thriving, and digitally sovereign Africa. Read the full white paper → https://lnkd.in/ezRfQQhe

🚀 The Search for a World-Class Corporate Controller at Flutterwave We are seeking an exceptional Corporate Controller to join Flutterwave, a leading global FinTech building the infrastructure for payments in Africa and beyond. Reporting to me, the CFO, this role is not just about oversight; it's about building the future of our financial engine. The Mission and Mandate The single most critical challenge for this leader is to establish and operationalize world-class processes for consolidating and reporting group-level financials in strict accordance with US GAAP. This includes driving a faster close cycle and reviewing key strategic areas like revenue recognition, transfer pricing, and tax optimization to maximize business performance. Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a US GAAP expert (Big 4 experience strongly preferred, CPA/ACCA required) with a proven track record in multi-entity consolidation of a high growth private Fintech and working with teams across multiple time zones. The candidate will be based in the East Coast of USA and working remotely. Builder & Leader: Must have experience building small, highly efficient teams and processes, especially within a high-growth environment focused on emerging markets. Strategic & Technical: You must be able to straddle technical accounting standards and their business execution implications. We need someone who can own and enhance consolidation methodology that is fit-for-purpose for a rapidly scaling company. Someone who is apt at leading external group audits working closely with external auditors and other stakeholders. Culture Fit: An individual who loves to organize chaos, remains calm in the face of uncertainty, and has a sense of humor to keep the team motivated. Passion for building for Africa is highly valued. 📩 Apply or Refer a Leader If you are a change agent ready to scale a global FinTech, lead our financial reporting to the next level, and are excited by the challenge of building world-class processes, we want to hear from you. Please apply directly via the link in the comments, or tag/message an outstanding Controller who is ready for this mission. #Flutterwave #FinTech #CorporateController #USGAAP #GlobalFinance #EmergingMarkets #Careers

  • We’re proud to see our Head of Strategy & Planning, Bridgit Antwi featured on the Finovate Podcast with Greg Palmer, where she shared insights into Flutterwave’s journey and the future of payments in Africa. In the episode, Bridgit explores how we’ve built Africa’s most licensed payments infrastructure, connecting 30+ countries and enabling merchants to seamlessly collect payments across currencies, methods, and borders. She also highlights how this infrastructure is empowering businesses of all sizes from global players like Uber to local champions like Airpeace to scale with confidence. The conversation also looks ahead to what’s next: stablecoins. As part of the Circle Partnership Network, we here at Flutterwave are helping merchants access the benefits of USDC, providing faster and more reliable cross-border settlement while reducing the impact of currency volatility. This podcast is a fantastic snapshot of what drives us: simplifying payments so businesses can grow, and Africa can thrive. Listen to the full episode here:https://lnkd.in/gKvyNwn2
